We are currently with Virgin AND Sky! We are looking to try to get everything from the one supplier.

    Currently:

    Virgin - XL Phone, M B/B, M TV = £27per month
Sky - 6 mixes @ £13 discounted at half price but only until next month when it will go up to £24

Sky have offered us 6 mixes, plus HD pack, plus phone with unlimited evening and weekend calls, plus basic B/B up to 2mB for £47 per month no install charges.

Virgin have offered us XL tv, V+HD box, M phone, L B/B up to 10MB for £42.99per month + £30 one off install charge for the V+ box.

The Virgin offer looks better apart from they don't have as many HD channels as Sky. We are ages away from our BT exchange too, so up to 2MB is the best we can expect from anything other than Virgin.

So is the Virgin offer a good one? £42.99 is still a lot of money per month and we've been with Virgin since it was Telewest - question is, can we do any better?!

    Any suggestions appreciated!

Yes - in the same situation / pack with Sky and just BB with Virgin.

Retentions offered the £42.99 deal plus install @ £50 (but XL BB). Cancelled and got a call back 2 days later offering same deal but for £36.99 pm (I did say Sky offered 6 mix plus 20Mb BB at £37) - no install plus free wifi router.

You may even get Tivo if you ask for it - I wasn't too bothered.

My 12 month contract expires on 25 June. I am on standard pack, kids and movies on a half price for 12 mths. Also got free HD pack as well. Called to cancel and was told to wait until out of contract. Noticed the good deals others have got. Should I cancel now or wait as advised by retentions.
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

Cancel now - you have to give 30 days notice - so you are already paying for nearly a week extra out of contract.

12 months is the contract - you can give notice 30 days before.

    Good luck

Have sky package and broadband and phoned up with view of cancelling, was offered new hd box and hd package at half the rate over 12 months which would be £5pm so no great retention deals, seriously considering bt package.

    I used 08000466434, thanks to saynoto0870!

Rang up and was immediately offered 1/2 price for main subscription, now pay £26 instead of £52. Still have to pay full whack for HD, £10.25/month.

Also i am still on a rolling contract so can give 31 day notice of cancellation at any time still!
  • Hi,

Newbie here! Just got round to registering..

I've just bought a HDTV and looking to get Sky HD for it.
I live at home with Parents and we have sky - full package, phone, broadband and HD - been with sky for over 10 years..
This is my first HD tv and so looking to get multiroom HD.

We did use to have multiroom about 5 years ago but no longer have the box. (it was just a standard box)

Any suggestions about any particular deals/how to approach sky for the best offer?
Spend alot a month with them and we ditched Virgin broadband about 18months ago to get everything from sky..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  • Moving Home so called sky to tell them i am leaving, told them it was very expensive i pay £71.25 for Full Sky, HD and ESPN, he got me 50% off the Sky world for 6 months (pushed for a year but told me to call back in Dec and basicaly do the same again) and they aranged my home move in two weeks time, at no cost even offered me a an extra HD box for multiroom,

As long as they turn up and do the Job i am very happy with the service and a new monthly rate of £45.25
