You might get lucky and get another half price discount... bets bet is to give it a try
given that you've had half price for 12 months, they may not be too eager to give you that again is it's a huge saving and sky are in the money making business.0 -
Any thoughts on this offer guys and gals:
New Sky customer
Variety pack
Knowledge pack
Syle and Culture pack
Sky + HD box w/ hd pack
Sky HD box w/out HD pack
Multiroom
BB unlimited and freetime eve and wkend calls
All at standard price
With £50 m and s voucher
then offered me a 30 bill credit
a further £30 was offered if I took out sky protect at £8.25 pm
I said I'd accept if he could give me the credit (total £60) without sky protect.
Sky protect works out at almost £100 per year, so not worth it IMO
would you have taken it?
I'm going through the website and topcashback instead0 -

You haven't said how much all that will cost per month.

Basically didnt get anything.
I started off my removing sky sports and movies and reducing the bill down to 55.99 p/m. which gives me:
m broadband
xl tv
anytime minutes
v+ box
standard box multi room.
I then called back to cancellations saying i begrudged paying that amount when all I really want is Sky sports and Movies for a similar price, and they said they couldnt do anything. This is where I planned to cancel the package and sit it out for a couple of weeks and await a hopeful callback, but i caved and removed my anytime mins to evenings and weekends, reducing the bill to £49 p/m
Its still good to be saving on what I was paying, just disappointed not to have stuck with my plan! never mind. may call back tomorrow or later with a "ive been thinking and still want to cancel" call.:o0 -
Been following this thread for ages! Just plucked up courage and gave Sky a call. Got 50% discount on everything (2 packs+movies+sport) for 6 months. Took less than 10 minutes. But I was serious about cancelling - can't justify spending nearly £50 sub per month during the summer when our overpaid footballers are in Barbados - and maybe that's the key to getting them to show some generosity! For information I've been with Sky for nearly 10 years and this is my first discount.0

I rang Sky 6 months ago to cancel as it was costing me too much having my Broadband with Virgin and TV with them so was going to move it all to Virgin. They offered me half price for 6 months which I accepted. It has just gone back up so I called again to cancel and they wouldn't offer me anything because I'd just had 6 months half price, so they have my months notice and I've booked an install with Virgin.0

I have been with Virginmedia for last few years. I am on TV: XL, B:L, H:M have one V+ box and also the asian package which costs me £54.74 - called them to leave because I wanted to move to sky as for the same price I could get another box. I really didn't want to leave as the virgin broadband is truly unlimited and faster then what I would get with sky. So I said sky were giving me like for like except asian channels for £45, they couldn't do it so I gave my one months notice.
Received a call about a week later from Virginmedia asking me to stay and now I am getting what I was getting but with 2 ADDITIONAL BOXES - one V+ and one standard. Nothing extra to pay for installation, boxes, activation etc for just £1 more so £55.74. If I wanted just one additional V+ box then it would of been £48.240 -
Morning All,
Had sky less than a month, phoned literally just now to cancel sky sports - end of season etc. Got £15 a mnth off for 3 months, meaning we pay £5 a month for Sky Sports until the end of August!
Didn't really have to grovel too much, just asked if we could cancel or were there any offers around, then they offered the above deal. I must admit though, my partner was sat next to me fretting incase we had to go ahead with the cancellation.
Hurrahh for moneysavingexpert.com!0 -
I also threatened to leave and go to Virgin. Sky World HD pack, down to £36 from £62 for 6 months.Dave. :wave:0
