I have been with Virgin since 2008 and not locked into any deals. I pay £38 per month for 2mb broadband, (L) TV package and (M) package for phone line. I dont really use the phone much, and use the same tv channels (more than likely the ones Freeview offer). The limit on the web is ok too. Im also aware that virgin use cables that no one else can use...Does anyone know a better offer? I just phoned Virgin and they offered a £1 reduction for changing to the Freeview channels...I think the customer service op was cringing at the time!0

I have had sky for years paying £70 odd per month, last year I received a discount to £46.50 for 12 months, this deals is running out at the end of this month. I rang sky to enquire about extending this offer or better??
They refused any further discounts, so I decided to give 1 months notice and cancel.
Does anyone think I will receive a call in the meantime offering me an offer to stay with sky?0 -
They'll be calling you within a month or two of the cancellation date with an offer to get you back.
Hold on.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Sky today offered me 50% off the World package (£52) but nothing off the HD, for 6 months.
Worth 6 x £26 or £156, so I have taken it
Their opening shot was £15 off for three months0 -
Hi,
Definately depends on who you speak to, just rang and no offers for me, SS and ESPN removed for a saving of £29 per month which is great. Will have to watch the cricket highlights or at the pub !0 -

Wanted to upgrade to HD+ and multiroom. Was offered the 1TB box for £49, they waived the £60 set up fee and offered 3 months free for both the HD package and the multiroom. Which was a lot better than I was expecting. That was just through sales so retentions could maybe have offered more.0

We are currently with Virgin AND Sky! We are looking to try to get everything from the one supplier.
Currently:
Virgin - XL Phone, M B/B, M TV = £27per month
Sky - 6 mixes @ £13 discounted at half price but only until next month when it will go up to £24
Sky have offered us 6 mixes, plus HD pack, plus phone with unlimited evening and weekend calls, plus basic B/B up to 2mB for £47 per month no install charges.
Virgin have offered us XL tv, V+HD box, M phone, L B/B up to 10MB for £42.99per month + £30 one off install charge for the V+ box.
The Virgin offer looks better apart from they don't have as many HD channels as Sky. We are ages away from our BT exchange too, so up to 2MB is the best we can expect from anything other than Virgin.
So is the Virgin offer a good one? £42.99 is still a lot of money per month and we've been with Virgin since it was Telewest - question is, can we do any better?!
Any suggestions appreciated!0
