i would look into why you only get 40mb, you really should be getting close to 120mb.

if you really are only getting 40mb, then you could downgrade to the 60 or 30mb boardband to save some money
  • i phoned up they said they will knock off £5 a month but i said why do i only get 40mb wireless she asked me to do a wired test i got 85mb, she said thats not riight, so she is sending some one over today before 4.

    Hi,

As stated earlier I was unimpressed by Sky's offer of £12 off my £95 monthly bill.

Went ahead and cancelled, then they called on Saturday.
Offered my same package (all channels, hd, sports etc) and sky go extra.

Told me of new offers and free BB for a year.

So for all 3 services I pay £60 p/m (50% off), I have a contract with the phone and BB of 12 months, and I'm not in contract with the TV and can cancel when I like.
Not only that, because I paid £95 this month they have reduced next months bill to £29 to account for my slight overpayment.

I have just got TiVo contract for 12 months as I upgraded my account however no sign of netflex does anyone know if I should have got it
  • Hi all,

First post here after having used the various hints and tips over the years! I have just got off the phone to Sky. My package currently is £61.90 which breaks down as follows:

    HD Pack Discounted 19 Feb - 18 Mar -£7.75
Entertainment with Sports and Movies HD 19 Feb - 18 Mar £61.75
    Viewing Subscription Discounted 19 Feb - 18 Mar -£15.00

    Sky Broadband Unlimited 19 Feb - 18 Mar £7.50

Sky Talk Line Rental 19 Feb - 18 Mar £15.40.

The promotional discount on sports/movies and hd which I got through MySky are due to end so I rang up to cancel in the hope of getting another deal (stated that I was saving for deposit for a house so wanted to cancel). The man on the phone asked the usual questions - what do you use, what do others in your household use etc. and after leaving me on hold for about 5 mins, came back with 20% off for 9 months which actually left me paying more from next month - £67ish!

Explained I was looking to save money, not spend more and he said "well you are saving money" (not sure he saw my point). Anyway, I've ended up cancelling my entire package.

How likely will they come back with an offer do you think? And how long do they normally take? I've got all the marketing options ticked on my account and will be keeping my phone close by my side!!

    Thanks

This thread has being effected from it being a STICKY in its own right.

Sorry MSE team but why try to fix something that isn't broken?

Traffic and frequency of posts is similar to before…

It's a repetitive thread with similar questions asked again and again

I currently have TV L, Talk Weekends V HD box and 30GB broadband with virginmedia. (I also have talk 08 2 package with them but I can use saynoto0870 instead)

I am going to compare this with talktalk's package of 16GB broadband, evening and weekend calls + free hardware(which I think includes a youview box)

With the recent price increase vm will be costing me £46 per month while talktalk's offerings is less than half that.

What do you guys think my chances are when I give vm my notice to leave?

Instead of cancelling, why not tell them that you are considering the TalkTalk package you mention and see whether they'll match it? You can always cancel if they don't.
  • Just had a call to offer 35% off the full package for 12 months, I'm still holding out for something better!
