I have now been off 2 months and no call from them.

Perhaps your account had no to marketing in which case no-one would contact you.
I have to say not missing the tv and now looking for decent hard drive recorder. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Humax Freeview or Freesat are usually the best option. Manager's specials are often good buys from Humax Direct.

It appears that previous 'come back to sky' statement in my sky has started to be removed from accounts where people have actually had sky turned off. I have now been off 2 months and no call from them. I have to say not missing the tv and now looking for decent hard drive recorder. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm surprisingly missing it much less than I thought I would as well, infact I'm not really missing it at all, a quick firmware update on my samsung smart tv has seen a dramatic improvement in the on demand 'apps' from a multitude of channels.

As the main use for our sky tv box was for the missus to record soaps and then watch them through the day or the following day whilst the baby sleeps, the near £60 saving is much more welcome.

I'm not sure I would even want it back on no matter how much discount was offered.

We kept the phone and broadband, on a promo offer which gives us bb unlimited free and we just pay for the phone line, despite being told this offer wouldn't be retained without tv the advisor did indeed offer it to stop us cancelling the phone and be as well.

This is why you cannot see any offers on MySky. You remain a Sky customer if you are still with them for 'phone and broadband. The best deals are only offered to those who cancel completely.

As I said earlier, if you remain a Sky customer (which you do) you are unlikely to see any offers on MySKy. You are also already taking advantage of just such an offer for telephony and internet.

You can expect offers to return to Sky television in the coming months, usually in the form of mailed flyers.

Right, that makes sense cheers. I did think about cancelling the lot, but the price were paying for phone and bb on the promo is cheap and it does work very well in our experience. Cheers

Ok, so I am all ready to call Sky tomorrow and try to get a reduction on how much we pay - I have managed this quite successfully previously, but I have a quick question..

I don't really want to cancel sky but if I call their bluff and start the cancellation process, how late can I call them to cancel the cancellation?

    Thanks
Trying to regain my comping mojo

If you are in a new twelve month contract, you can hardly ring in August threatening to leave! You'll have to wait until next February before ringing again, before that you'll have no leverage...

You can ring as late as you want. You can even call to reactivate your services on the day you are cut off (or any time after).

Obviously, it's far more likely Sky will call your bluff if you really have no intention of cancelling...
