Right so I phoned up the number stated in the My Sky account regarding an offer, got a recorded message "The offer has now ended, to reinstate you viewing without the offer call" So phoned the regular customer services number, they would do damn all for me, so they can nicely stick it.
As I said originally, you should have changed your marketing preferences before cancelling.
  • Just phoned up to cancel.

We are on unlimited broadband (not fibre), phone, TV with sports and movies and currently pay about £84 a month.

I was first offered £72 a month for 12 months, then £59 a month but for 3 months only.

After declining that she said she would take my number speak to someone else then call me back later tonight.

We'll see if she does actually call me back or not!

The weird thing is, when I rejoined in the summer I specifically asked for the HD Pack for Sports and that was part of the deal I got. Without it, there's no point me paying for Entertainment Extra+. So if they didn't actually add it and I've only been getting the Sky Sports HD channels due to this "free trial" then I'm gonna kick off cos they've made me pay more than necessary for ages.

I got the same deal. I seem to remember them telling me the "free trial" was only on offer to those who took Ent Extra+ unfortunatley.
That`s their way of making the cash I suppose, we were getting HD "free" but paying for the EE+......atleast we`ve been getting all the other HD channels assosciated with EE+ and the Box Sets.
Out of interest, did u get the offer of half price HD for a year now ur trial is expiring? I think I`m gonna hav to take it, after getting used to HD, SD football just isn`t the same on a 60" now :(

I was never told of such a deal though. If I'd have known then fine but I didn't agree to that. I'll tell them to go back through the phone records if they need to.

Yeah £2.50pm for a year I think. No mention of a contract but definitely won't take it if there's a contract involved. Can't watch football in SD, would rather cancel.

I'm looking to join sky shortly and looking at the full HD package with sports & movies, landline and broadband.

What are the best deals around for new customers at the moment?

I think they did call me back but there was no one on the line. When I called the number back it was a sky automated voice message.

Had to phone back to the original number but obviously spoke to someone else. They said the best thing was to see if they phoned me back today. They haven't so I'm now waiting in a queue to speak to them again!
  • I didn't get a decent offer, so have now cancelled.

Am now playing the waiting game - hopefully they will call back in the next few weeks

If you want the best deals you have to cancel and mean it. Don't expect Sky to offer a deal prior to your cancellation date, it's only when your services are off completely that the deals come thick and fast.
