I am a sky customer of 7 years, never had any offers before and never cancelled before. I currently have HD, Multiroom, Sports, kids, documentaries etc, Unlimited Broadband and Weekend phone too.
I currently pay £95.90 per month and tbh would be more than happy with a 50% deal.
I have just phoned to cancel. I have cancelled my TV but was told by the adviser that if i cancel my Phone then i will lose my number if i wanted to go to a different provider. This really isnt an option because i use the phone number for my business.
1, Is the adviser telling the truth?
2, Will i get any offers by just cancelling my TV and not BB/phone?
That got cancelled in mid November and immediately got offered 50% off (refused), 1 week later they phoned with 20% off (refused). Got a flyer for 50% off tv and b/b last week, so you don't have to cancel your b/b to get deals.0 -
Thanks guys. I probably should have mentioned that I was offered the same package that I'm currently on for £82 so a saving of £13 per month. I refused that and am going to wait it out for a few weeks to see what happens. I'll update with results.:beer:0

I called Sky today to enquire about the free unlimited BB offer. Whilst on the phone I was also offered 75% off any tv package for the next 12 months. So I was paying around £43 for bt line rental and BB and £24 for sky entertainment and hd package. If I take up this offer I will be paying £15.40 sky line rental and BB and £7.87 sky entertainment and hd package saving me around £500 per year if my calculations are correct. Seems like a good deal to me.0

I am recently out of contract with Virgin and my bill has jumped up to £64 for XL tv, Tivo(500gb) 60mb BB and evening/weekend calls. Phoned retentions and they offered a little off but not that much so cancelled all services just before New Year.
I was looking on Sky's website yesterday and the online chat popped up, Ran through some prices with the guy and after going back and forward ended up getting Sky HD box, Entertainment Extra+, Movies, Broadband Unlimited and weekend calls for £47. 12 months contract getting installed in 2 weeks.:j
I've never had Sky before so looking forward to the change as my Tivo box has been playing up for a while...0 -

I just phoned the main customer enquires number and selected the change package option. Had only phoned to discuss the free bb for 12 months offer that I had received in the post. Whilst on the phone they offered to see if they could find me a better tv deal to convince me to stay. I think I was lucky to get such a good offer, considering my contract has not yet ended. But like the other poster stated, I have been a customer for a number of years and this is the first really decent offer I have had. Just wanted to highlight that there are still good offers to be had. Thanks.0 -

I have been with them for many years and called them to see last week to see if i could negotiate a cheaper deal as I currently pay £87 pm. They told me straight away that there was nothing thesy could do. I then asked to be put through to cancellations, they took my instruction to cancel my whole package (BB, TV & phone) with out even a question as to why, let alone any discounted offers.
I am now therefore in my cancellation off period. I have looked at other providers to see if there is anything better out there but they are all very similar in cost (for what I feel is a lower level of TV) for what I want so there is probably a chance I will end up staying with SKY. My problem is I need the BB & Phone so dont have the luxury of letting it slide for a few months. Therefore has anyone had any experiance of calling them back towards the end of the notice period to "change my mind" Im guessing that I still wont get any discount.0 -
