Well, that didnt work out
Explained that the full price Sky was too much for us, and that we would like to cancel. Also mentioned that we were in the market for new broadband supplier
Best they could come up with?
20% off TV for 8 months with NO contract = £55.85 a month!
When we went on to discuss the broadband, they offered..
TV - no discount so £67.25
Fibre - free for 6 months
Line rental free
So the total bill jumps to £87.25 in month 6!
Bit the bullet and asked them to proceed with cancellation
What next? Want to continue watching football, movies etc but probably need to look at what Virgin and BT are offerring :mad:0 -
Be warned Sky Watchers. if you are a BT Sports subscriber and you call BT to cancel they will tell you its 30 days notice. Its not. They cut you off immediately. Even if you have already paid up to the end of the current billing period.
I've moved all mine back to VM, so don't need the BT Sport sub, lost it tonight, even though it was paid up till the 16th of December. Apparently 'ill get a refund' of unused sub, ill believe that when I get it...0 -
Left Sky to move to BT a couple of months ago - just had a letter from them offering 50% off TV to go back to them and half an hour later a phone call offering 75% off - so I'm now on Entertainment Extra TV only for £6.75/month, pretty happy because my crappy aerial is causing issues with BT Vision.
Can also upgrade to sports + movies for another £9.50 or something like that.
Ditto, we've the lot (Ent Ext, Sports and Movies) for £14.75 a month after we went dark around 3 weeks ago. 12 months no contract if we had wanted. But in our case working kids wanted a multiroom so we've added that too (full price) but that enters us into a contract for 12 months but with the 75% discount.
It's just a game this now, will start playing it again in 12 months time.
The biggest tip I can give anybody is you have to actually leave to get the best offers. Show sky you are serious and this is what you get.0 -

Do just that, leave. They will call you with the best offers after you leave. Be prepared for it to go off though, and you will get their best offers.
We've just had it all 100% free for 11 months (4 months at a time with 2 rollovers) and now after cancelling again we've 75% off for 12 months. Offers are there but you have to leave, ring them up asking for a deal and you get 20% if lucky, wait for them to ring you.0 -

cheers... makes complete sense
looking at our TV usage right now, im watching less and less football and movies anyway. Virgin's deals seem more attractive
They also seem to be doing £100 off - anyone know when that gets credited to your account?0 -
As per my earlier post, on 17 November I gave notice on my contact which was due to expired on 3 January. On giving notice I was initially offered a 20% discount for 9 months (no new contract), which I declined. I was offered the same deal in a subsequent phone call.
Sky called on Saturday and offered a 35% discount for 12 months (no contract). The discount applies regardless of what package I have. Accepted it and I'm still with Sky.0 -
Hi,
Has anyone had any luck getting a discount on the Sky HDpack (£10.50 a month) Sky don’t seem to want to budge on this???
Thanks0 -
Can anyone comment on this please...
I called Sky recently to cancel giving two months notice. Their Rep told me that they could only process a cancellation upto 40 days in advance and to call back nearer the time.0 -
Apparently their system can't cope with cancellations outside that time scale.0
