  • Phoned sky today in reference to the email that offered 50% offer.

Well it appears the 50% off only applies to the main box subscription and not to multiroom boxes....and no offer on a new box

So no SkY for me unless I get another email

Beware-bt are falsely advertising a cheaper price! I've just gone on to the BT site through the Martin Lewis web page. I wanted to sign up for their whole bundle ie: TV, phone and broadband with £90 vouchers. It clearly states that for their TV essential and Unlimited broadband a £30 activation fee but when you go to checkout it goes up to £35 activation fee.
I've just contacted BT who couldn't seem to understand what i was saying at first, however i eventually got them to understand but all they've done is say it's an error and will be rectified.
Surely they should offer to honor the price they are clearly advertising it at and i'm also wondering how many other people they have duped by this and how many people they will be refunding the extra £5 to plus interest?
Is this something trading standards would be interested in? It must be false/misleading advertising etc.....?
I'm now having second thoughts about signing up with them. :(

Hi all thought I would post my great deal from Sky, If anyone has posted about this then FORGIVE ME ..:)
Ok so 2 yrs ago my son informed me that his friend had been offered a 50% off deal from Sky because he had left to go to Virgin Media...I was INFURIATED :( I had been a loyal customer of Sky for around 10yrs or so..And so I quickly got onto the phone and MOANED!!!

I was Basically offered NOTHING ...except a little advice to join Sky deals online to see what was on offer...And again nothing....

Still really annoyed I cancelled Sky and went through the mundane cancellation dept, "why are you leaving" explained, Sorry nothing we can do...etc...

My Sky subscription was off for 1 Day...they rang, I got 50% off...Now My package consists of, All movies All channels, All sport..with the exception of pay per view sport...All for £32.50 per month..

EVERY year since I do the same... so for the last 2 years I have had 50% off....and I'm now on my 3rd year...Stand up for yourself because as long as Sky offer other people half price deals I will NEVER pay full price again.. principals.

    Thanx platterfish

Great offer, Thought I'd put it in the my office/den, alas the wife went off on one as she recons I wont need to leave my room and spend time with her :j

    Still a great deal.
  • Why do you deem 25% a loss leader ?
Any income for Sky is more than running the account costs surely ?

OK was the closest analogy I could think of. But it's why they can come up with mega deals for some, and it's cost them next to nothing to do it.

Or a phone call, I would not have rung them, I also got that 50% off email, but I've just come back via a phone call offer of 75% off.

When people are leaving sky, rejoining for a discount AND signing up for Fibre..

.. are Sky offering Fibre for £10 a month or completely free?

I'm trying to balance up any potential Sky discounted deal when contract ends in Jan VS going with Virgin Media right now

    Cheers
  • Had to go back to Virgin tonight to secure a new deal, after checking out the current Sky deals.
Paid £120 up front for 12 months line rental, saving £60 across the year.
    Rest of package negotiated was:
    TIVO box in one room
    V+HD box in other room
    XLTV
    Talk weekends
    60mb broadband
    New router
    Installation
£44 per month for 6 months, then £49 per month after that.
Got what they termed a 'legacy deal'.
    Happy with that.
