    nice one

i wonder if a new customer calling up would get a deal like that?

Always worth having an idea of what they CAN offer if you push them a bit. Tried to get Talk evenings and weekends included and a 12 month discount of £44 per month, but the lovely chap at Virgin didn't go for it! Well, if you don't ask....
  • Or a phone call, I would not have rung them, I also got that 50% off email, but I've just come back via a phone call offer of 75% off.

    a 75% discount would be great !!!

might ring them again and see what I can get

    Hi,

Has anyone had any luck getting a discount on the Sky HDpack (£10.50 a month) Sky don’t seem to want to budge on this???

    Thanks

I managed to add sky HD pack to my 75% deal.

Im out of contract with Sky and have both my broadband and entertainment package TV with them

I dont really want to put all my broadband , TV and phone eggs into one basket, so I'm seriously thinking of moving to BT broadband, and possibly even for the TV because I want to keep my 'recording' facilities that a Sky+ box normally provides.

Has anyone moved over to BT TV recently? How do they compare in terms of channels in comparison to the channels on Sky?

One annoying thing about Sky On Demand and catch up is that to watch an iplayer or ITV or 4OD show, the Sky box will download it first, which takes absolutely ages, so as far as I am aware there is no streaming involved. Much prefer the ipad for catch up streaming and Im really disappointed with the Sky catch up to be honest!

Does the Youview box download the content first before you can view it?

There is streaming involved. The Sky box will download it and when enough has downloaded for you to watch it without interruption it will tell you it's ready to playback. There's no need to wait until it's fully downloaded.

Why are you waiting for the entire show to download before viewing? After only a few seconds, the show will become "available" to view and will continue to download while you are watching!
Basically, you've been doing it wrong!:)

The half price offer on Multi-Screen is for customers taking an extra box for the first time. You won't receive this offer on an existing Multi-Screen subscription!

The discount you were offered seems good enough to me.

Take the 50% off the tv pack to start with Then wait for the flyer for discounted multi room

checking that taking a new deal on multi room won't effect your existing discount

i was told by sky adviser once its one offer at a time when i wanted a discount on my package & hd, so took the discount on tv & called a week later for for 50% off HD...
