Hi
I called Sky over the weekend to say that I could no longer afford the package and a lovely guy said would it help if I reduced the TV to half price and also the line rental? for 6 months, so 50% reduction without even trying, although I did need to get rid of some bills and didnt argue my case!:j
Thanks Sky for that!0 -
I was in the process of cancelling Virgin to go to BT. Served notice and placed my order with BT. A few days later I was called with a deal which made it sense for me to stay with Virgin after all.
Now, 4 weeks into the new 12 month contract, I have received an email telling me my price is going up by £5.50 per month. Surely they can't do this????
Any advice appreciated.0 -

Yes they can. I have been with VM since the start, and they have done this more than once. It's in their Ts and Cs. Apparently, legislation is being introduced to ensure that this will not happen in the future.0 -

That's good enough for me!0 -
Just leaving virgin after 7+ years as paying well over the odds and we are now getting another price hike. We rang them first but nothing they could/would do despite being able to get very similar on sky and Bt for less all they could offer was dropping our package size to reduce cost.
So told them we are leaving getting almost the same for half the price at sky. We are having to give 30 days but given they changed the contract by hiking up the price do we have to stick to the 30 days??0 -
Gem1875, will be interested in the replies to your posting as I have been a Telewest / Virgin customer for 15 years and am seriously thinking the time is right to move, especially with another price rise. From reading all the postings it always seems to be Sky that offer the deals etc and Virgin don`t seem to give a ****. Whilst I appreciate neither seem that bothered about loyalty Sky seem to come up with some great prices and don`t seem that worried about 12, 18 month contracts when they want you to renew.
I had a problem with loss of broadband a month or so ago, after ringing Virgin I was given a credit of £1.61...to compensate...its a laugh.
I`m sorry if anyone thinks my logic is wrong... but am starting to think that Virgin have had enough of my hard earned money and I need to sort something. Are there any good deals around for new joiners to Sky?0 -
Well that's exactly how we felt I went on line to look at sky offers and ended up chatting to an advisor via an instant message format he seemed to have several offers hench the 50% off that I got. I suggest you talk to them see what they offer BT did the same.
I just don't want to wait the full 30 days notice as sky getting installed.0 -
Thanks gem1875, have ou just gone for TV or do you have BB, phone etc on your new deal.
I`m wondering and would appreciate any advice what I would do as I have Vrigin phone line and don`t have BT (it was taken out when we went to Virgin I think), is it still easy to change and can I keep my number as I use this number a lot for work.0 -
I have all phone Internet and tv with virgin getting all the same with sky. I was same as you no phone line sky putting that in at no cost and I'm keeping my number so not to bad really. It's a shame as I like virgin and would stay if the costs could be reduced, its sad that loyalty gets you nowhere!0
