I don't understand Sky's greed if they said £35-40 for sky world with broadband and phone calls I'm sure they wouldn't be able to make their boxes quick enough0

Im 'out of contract' and rang them yesterday to discuss what my options are.
They agreed to knock off a tenner a month. I said i'll ring them back today.
If i look at my planner, all i have recorded in the last 6 months is stuff that I could easily get on freeview so to be honest, i dont think there is any point in me keeping sky!0 -

Yep, at most, Sky tv is a Nick Jr player at the moment...0 -
I've just called up to cancel my Sky and they guy in retentions offered me free broadband for a year, £4.50 of line rental and £1.50 of TV. I've been with them nearly 5 years does anyone else think the £13.50 saving it a bit stingy from their part. Asked for a bit more of a reduction on the tv bill but didn't get far. Think i'll ring up ltr and see if I can use the threat to move to Freeview to further reduce the TV discount. Anyone else have any better luck haggling them recently?0

I was on sky for last 12 months on the 50% offer from moneysaving expert. I got HD pack 3 months later as they offered me for £2.5 a month so total i was paying £16. When my 12 month normal package ended, I canceled it and the retention department bought it to £18 a month without contract.
So i have accepted it till my HD contract ends in march as I will be paying only £4.5 extra for 3 months. Will try again if they budge else I will leave sky0 -

I'm in a similar position to you,and although it's tempting to call sky from what I can gather the worst thing can do is keep phoning them as they will then know that your desperate and will be more unlikely to give you any decent discounts.
I didn't actually cancel after yesterdays call, do you think it'd be worth my while calling up to accept the broadband and line rental discount and to go ahead and cancel the TV say i'm going to use Freeview?0 -
Cancelled sky 14/11/13, was on 50% off deal will cancel down 15/12/13.
They have been trying to call for days but I answered today and got offered 35% off with no additional contract.
I declined, as i'd ideally look for 50 or 75% off, does anyone know the timescales for sky to contact again via writing or over the phone?
Thanks0 -
