Sky Sports / Sky Movies are definitely in HD
That might explain it as I asked Sky for this as being an existing O2 BB customer / Sky Customer and they said it's 100% for new customers to Sky (my mum has been offered it).
Wondering how you went about placing the order in your partners name as I thought Sky are clued up on this (from the TV side).
I'd really like the deal as I'm paying £40 ish a month + £16 ish BT Line Rental (O2 BB is FREE until March 14).0 -
hi
I have been with sky for 6/7 years with the full package.
I have all the packages plus multi room all hd and phone and bb unlimited. so after having a look on here a decided to phone and cancel. sky offered me half price line rental for 9 months, which i didn't agree too. so i phoned back next day to cancel the lot and told them all i need is bb for netflix for my kids and i would use free view
This was last week does any 1 think they will come back with a better offer??
thanks0 -

Fair play to the lady from Livingston I believe she offered the best she could.
20% reduction on the package and 1 of the multirooms free of charge.
Politely declined and she told me it had been a grim Friday for inbound calls.
It turned out although my discounts are ending, my contract is not up till near end of November but she very helpfully processed my cancelation to the correct dates to avoid any further charges.
Now onto the usual game of cat and mouse.
PS when I analysed my current discounts their is something odd.
Perhaps someone can help.
My TV package is straight forward. It shows Package xxx £x.xx and then subscription discounted and a negative figure.
Both my multirooms appear the same. Charge £10.25 then discounted -£7.75.
It is the HD Pack Discounted that throws me. I dont get charged anything but then I get a discount of -£7.75 applied. Is this an error in my favour or just another way of discounting the TV package that includes HD already ?
Cancelation letter arrives Tuesday.
Okay so they called Wednesday twice and I was out.
Called again twice today and I took the call.
I indicate I am prepared to listen but do not want any reduction in service if I choose to stay.
Guy seemed so ill prepared or was just thumping his keyboard as a blag. Anyone after lots of humphing he offers no discount of my 2 multi-rooms as none available just now (Lie as op last week offered 1 free), but does offer contract free a sum of £xx.xx in total. I ask what that means in terms of discount and he says 35%. I say you are wasting your time. He obviously calls my bluff by saying "okay thanks then" and hangs up !!!
Lets see how long I wait for the next call (I hope).
Still 6 weeks till lights out.0 -
hello,
Question please to those in the know! currently got a deal with sky, pay £31pm for basic tv (which is all i need) the unlimited bb and phone. the discount was on the line rental and is now ending.
have seen talk talk deal which is internet for £2.50pm so £5 cheaper than sky. i would like to keep the tv as i do watch a few channels but i dont think i watch enough to justify paying £21.50pm for just tv.
previously when i rang sky to cancel he said not to cancel my phone and internet as this would be done by new provider to ensure i dont end up without and they refund any money i have paid once its switched. so i just cancelled tv but then i managed to get the deal so stayed.
if i ring up and cancel sky tv now, shall i wait before signing up with talk talk in case they offer me a deal? i am happy to actually hold out and let them cut the tv off (as i am not paying for tv if i dont get a deal) but dont want to get to that stage and not get a good deal and then be stuck paying sky line rental and £15pm for broadband while i wait to be switched to talk talk.
if i do change to talk talk are they likely to offer a deal just on tv?
thanks:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

I cancelled Sky and have gone with a talk talk deal.
Sky called one week before the service ends and I just said you're too late really, which they were.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Hi
The discount code available through the MSE website doesn't appear to be accepted today; anyone else having that problem? Appears to be the olde "technical problems".....I'm a born cynic so am highly suspicious of this kind of thing..... Ie oh yeah here's a great offer that you can't refuse only for the codes not to work.....
Much obliged if anyone can help....
Additional; my bad!!! Just got the code to work and am now VEYR excited to be getting the full bitter package from sky for £36 a month.... Nice!0 -

It was actually the Sky rep that suggested I signed up in someone else's name... I told him id heard about the £29.00 P/M existing O2 BB customer offer (see posts 4503 / 4505) then after going round the houses a few times, off he went to speak to his manager and returned with the go ahead.
As always though with these deals it all depends on who you speak to, if you don't succeed put the phone down and try again and again and again...0 -
Hi
Our monthly Sky bill is about £90 a month, including the following TV package:
MUTV £6.00
Multi Room £11.25
Entertainment Extra with Sports £59.25
I rang to see if I could get a few quid off. After a long winded call (asking if the kids watch golf etc.) I decided to cancel the whole lot and get a scaled down package with BT.
Sky have just called me and offered a small discount on the TV package, at £20 a month for 12 months. I told them it was not enough and BT is more attractive to me in cost terms. The thing is, I am happy to stay with Sky if they can get the cost down a bit more.
My questions are
a) Will Sky ring me again before my cancellation kicks in or is that it?
b) Am I likely to be offered anything else?
Many thanks0 -
The chances are they will ring you back, they did me (although with an offer I didnt accept) and if not you can always ring up the day before and "change" your mind.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0
