  • Your two totals are completely different, no wonder people were disbelieving you...

No sorry your missing the point...

I took the option of paying the line rental upfront (£119.40) then £14.50 P/M

Which is roughly the same as :

    £24.50 P/M (including the £119.40)

Well its completely true :) have to admit though, I too was pretty gob-smacked by the deal on offer

Do bare in mind, one of stipulations, you must be an existing O2 BB customer (now part of Sky)

The actual deal was all the above services and equipment for £29.00 P/M. However Sky agreed to let me pay the line rental up front (£119.40) Reducing the monthly total to £24.45

    £119.40 div 12 = £9.95 + £14.50 = £24.45 P/M

I still find this impossible to believe. Phone line aside, why would they give you their biggest TV and broadband for £14.50 a month - especially movies and Sports in HD.

I can't see how you could go from £76 a month to £24.

How did a call to Sky like that even go?

    I don't want to pay £76
Ok, you can pay £24 instead.
    Cheers.

I can do it also, I was paying £89, I called them up and they offered me Sports, Movies, Fibre, phone line for £11. Needless to say I said yes. :T

That offer does exist (well kinda)

The prices listed are correct but it won't include the premium channels in HD, just in SD

Also my understanding was that it was for New customers and not existing customers so I would be interested to know how he managed to get that deal

Sorry should have mentioned we've signed up in my partners name.

Would also like to confirm once again

Sky Sports / Sky Movies are definitely in HD

As in it is a legitimate offer that is exclusive to O2 Broadband and BE Customers

    Ah, that explains it

So the Movies-Sports being in HD charge has been waived? It is normally an additional £5.25. The rest of the channels would be HD

    Hi,

I am looking to see if I can get a retention deal from Sky, as I have just come to the end of my 12 months. Current package is:

TV Pack - entertainment + sports pack
    Broadband Unlimited
    Sky Talk Weekends
    = £65.50

Can anyone advise of the best retention deal to aim for?
    Thanks for any help!

Considering they sometimes offer everything for free (I've gotten this but too late), I'm not surprised at any price.

    Possibly.

Why is your box on its "last legs" after 12 months? Have you been cleaning it in the bath perhaps?

    Lol....no

But when I signed up for SKY a year ago it was a old box...in fact the box I have is about 5 years old.
