Just got Sky Sports and Entertainment Extra for £24.50 a month.
Cheekily went on Sky Chat 10 mins before getting a code and after i debated whether i could afford the initial full price of £49 a month the guy offered it to me for 9 months half price.
I said make it 12 months and i will leave Virgin for Sky but he didnt buy it.
I was already applying with the discount code of 50% off and as soon as it went through i closed my chat browser with the guy.
Been with Virgin since before NTL and they never ever offered me a decent deal, even when i threatened to leave. They have been so poor customer service wise they even said once 'We will never ever offer you a deal again'.
Phoned them 2 months ago asking about new customers getting better deals and they went through all this rubbish saying you will never find a better deal than this.
Turns out it was £2 a year less than a new customer.
However the new customer was given £50 money off voucher too.0 -
I just cancelled my Sky tv package a couple of days ago. All I got offered was 12 months half price line rental. I was however only paying around £36 for Entertainment Extra, Broadband unlimited and line rental. Just been chatting to a Virgin Media rep online as was looking at the M+ tv only package but was unwilling to pay the £49.95 installation fee. Couldn't get the installation fee waived. So I shall see what appears in the run up to Christmas, or whether Sky will come back and make me a better offer.0

Give it a week or 2 and Sky will be on the phone offering you another deal0 -
Hello,
it's my first post, so sorry if it's a duplicate.
Today I clicked through to the special page on moneysavingexpert.com to get sky at 50% off. I got my discount code which is great. But the page says I have to follow a special "Sky Link". but this link doesn't work for me. I've tried many times and in different browsers but it doesn't work.
I don't know how to sign up
Any advice is most appreciated. Thank you0 -
Sky TV cancels tomorrow, got a phone call asking my why I left - told them it was because my 50% off expired and got the 'oh we don't do deals like that any more' - yeah right.
Think I might go to YouView, even with premium channels it seems like a pretty good idea.0 -
Is the 50% code instead of getting cashback if you sign up via a cashback site?0

An outright lie, glad you are standing your ground and going through with your cancellation if they don't budge. Stay strong mate! Keep us updated :beer:A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

I just got an amazing deal from sky following MSE tips
I got my 50% discount code but for some reason it didn't work and it gave me a number to ring instead. I spoke to a man at Sky that said they would honour the discount.
1. He gave me the 12 months 50% discount on Entertainment extra package.
2. He gave me the 6 months 50% discount on Fibre broadband.
3. He also gave me Free HDx Install , Free HDx Box for new Customers without HD, Free activation, £50 Boots AFF Voucher Bundle, Free Sky Go and Free On Demand
4. Line rental at the equivalent of £9.95 a month locked in for 12 months if I pay £119.40 upfront as BT are putting the line rental up 04/12/2013
As I've paid the line rental separate it works out as £23.50 for 6 months then £33.50It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
if I was to use the code for 50% off. What channels do you get with the sports bundle?0
