Just phoned to cancel after my 50% discount has finished . Sky guy said "if we offer you another discount are you going to keep threatening to leave"
Of course I kept my nerve and was offered 20% off for next 8 months ( funny length of time) said no cancel the lot . He said I'll take you off mailing list then..as if that would bother me.
Let's see if they come back with a better offer or I'll have to go back eating humble pie!

That was the best i got offered with sky tv. Our broadband was with o2 so i rang sky and they offered me a brilliant deal on that but not the tv pakage. So my subscription is cancelled now.
Anyone know if i can use the 50% code in my name this year. It was in my husbands last year? Thanks in advance

Set Up: I've 2 Sky boxes (Multiroom),a standard box in one and an HD Box in main room (a SMART TV). I've a subscription to Lovefilm so happy with streaming that and watching the free channels.

I basically want to keep as much of the current hardware setup
and lose as much Sky COST as possible, so does this mean I have to pay 2 * £10 per month for accessing the normal and HD Sky boxes, plus £10 pm for multiroom just to keep the hardware setup?

    Thanks folks!

No, you can cancel Multi-room and still receive Free-To-Air channels for no cost whatever. The hardware belongs to you.
The only problem is that if you do cancel then the Sky+ recording facility will be disabled.

.. OK, I thought Sky had to give me access to Multiroom -great.
So if I'm happy to pay the £10 for each of the Sky+ and SkyHD boxes (£20), all my kit will work?
    Cheers!

Yes, but paying Sky £20 a month in perpetuity will cost far more than a Freesat PVR which would give you largely the same free channels and cost nothing after the initial outlay. I'd only continue with Sky's boxes if you don't need or want the recording features.
  • What does it mean when its says the 50% off is for standard tv???

What i really want is Sky Entertainment Extra and Sky Sports.

Anyone know if i could get this at 50%?

I think the Sports Package comes with the channels you get in Entertainment Extra...

I asked the question earlier on here on behalf of my friend , as she wanted Sky and I already have it( been with Sky TV since day one)We had worked out all the options...refer a friend ( we both would have got £75 of vouchers) apply the other day and she would have got £100 Tesco vouchers, or apply this morning and hopefully be one of the 2500 to use a half price code.....she has done the latter and got Entertainment Extra being installed next Saturday afternoon for £13.50 a month for the first year....she is very pleased .Thank you MSE.

The 50% off offer typically excludes the new HD Pack but will include Entertainment/Entertainment Extra/Entertainment Extra+, Sky Sports and Sky Movies. Not sure about Multiroom/Multiscreen.
