Having recently `threatened` to cancel Sports pack in order to get a better deal (no offer came), I have just called to do the same with the movies pack.....also no offer was forthcoming. After tryin to call thier bluff I`m now Sports and Movie-less. Nevermind. No offers received since cancellation either.
Anyway, I see Sky are offering 1 months free movie pack trail and also £20 credit if you subscribe to sports pack....anyway, anyone know if you could subscribe to movies/sports (for free month basically) and then immediately cancel. This would mean a months free movies/sports with no increase to bill.

Update on my post from last Friday 13-09-2013 about theoffer received by Sky, £39 per month for full TV package, Unlimited broadband andphone line. I signed up over the phone on Thursday but having received no confirmationof the good offer I signed for I called Sky Friday to have confirmation. I hadgiven my bank details and authorization for direct debit after all… Guess what, they told me that I had effectively a contract with sky but the details werequite different than what agreed on the phone, basically I was going to end uppaying around £30 more per month…So I spent around 45 minutes on the phone withdifferent operators and a nice lady told me that she would call me back Monday morning(today) to update me if they could effectively give me the contract I hadsigned for. This morning I have been a bit impatient and I called back. Anyway,I was right to call as after around 30 minutes on the phone trying to have ananswer about the cost of my contract they told me that it would take around oneweek to tell me if I could have the contract I signed for. I told them that Iwanted to cancel immediately. So I spoke to another operator from cancellation.I was very firm in the fact I that I won’t pay more than £40 per month and thatI would cancel if I didn’t have today the agreed deal. It took a bit of time butin the end he has modified my contract so that I should pay what I have signedfor. The worst is that I am still not very confident that it will be the case. Iasked him his name and Sky ID, to send a confirmation e-mail, a text message, and so far nothing received and when my check my online account I have all theinfos I want apart from the one on the cost of my package.
So be very careful when a good offer is made over the phoneby Sky, make sure you have the operator ID, ask for a confirmation text ore-mail, etc…They could lie to you just to sign you up and have your bankdetails. And then you will need time and energy to manage to have what yousigned for. If interested, check the Account and Billing section in the Skyforum and you’ll see that it’s full of similar stories.

If you look under the billing section of your My Sky area it should list the changes that you have made to your account and the cost involved.0

Due to be cut off in 5 days, why don't they want to retain me??!! Had no phone call, no email, no nothing! Wondering if I should phone up and say 'look, I want to stay with you but I don't want to be paying £80, is there anything you can do?' But then I suppose there's no incentive to keep me then is there? Any thoughts?)
