My Sky went of a few days back, I was on a 50% staff discount for 12 months which I got on here, I was on everything apart from sports and movies, When I phoned to cancel I said it was getting to expensive, they offered to reduce my package to the minimum, I said no, they then moved onto offer me a broadband deal which worked out at £32 per month, I currently only pay £25 to EE, so as I say it went of the other day, I did get a call from retentions who offered me the same thing.
  • Has anybody who had an MSE 50% off code from last year cancelled and been offered anything as yet ? I've just cancelled after they only offered me 20% off for 8 months.

Yes, Sky must have read your post on here, and then posted you a letter which arrived an hour after you posted! They must have a TARDIS at Sky HQ!:D
  • Last year i had multi-room, 2 HD+ boxes, everything including movies, just not the Sports channels and the HD package. Paid £32 for it. I beleive i got 50% off.

Money still tight so gave my notice, no offer to stay. Cut off is on Thursday. Did get a letter through the other day saying 50% off all channels, except i really wanna get this 75% i have seen floating around.

Not to worry if i dont get it, just have to get used to basic tv again lol.

Already called to "check the last bill etc" and she was like yeah its "xx amount" that was the end of the call lol worth trying again or do i leave it?

Ringing them back continually after tendering your cancellation hardly gives the impression that you want to leave. If you push too hard you can expect to receive nothing in addition to what you have already been offered.

I don't think it matters too much. I cancelled, called up and reinstated as I couldnt buy a PPV I wanted with a pending cancellation. Then called up after that and cancelled again. Was eventually called back and given 50% off for 12 months.

I think what is important to remember is that the staff you call up, and the team that deal with cancellations (i.e. retentions), do not have access to the offers that the team that calls you back and offers you the best deal.
