Hmm I was told they weren't allowed to give out new boxes without starting a new contract.

I'd rip their hand off at that Steviedeal - if I was offered it. I already told them I was prepared to transfer my broadband and phone over but wanted a deal to keep everything under the same umbrella ... If I got a free 2TB box with half price I'd be thrilled. The 'new customer' and upgrade deals take the pi$$ really compared to loyalty. Ah well. Like Macman says, just cancel and see what's what, no real pain.
  • I've had the survey, still no call off them.
  • Well, I called and cancelled Sky 30 days ago. I've had about 4 missed calls as I've not been around everytime they have called me. I decided to ring them a week or so ago and said I had missed a few calls and wanted to make sure everything was ok. The guy went and checked and said they have no record of any calls on my account, even though I know that the missed calls was from a Sky number, anyone else had this?

So, today is my cut off day so I'll see what happens now. Have freesat built into my tv so I'll be moving to that now unless I get an offer. Be a shame to lose Sky as I have enjoyed having it, but with money tight it's something I'm sure I can live without.
  • Just had the call today. After some guff, I told him I wanted the 12 months half price. He said he could do that but only for Entertainment Extra with Sports and Movies, not with the HD pack. That would work out at £38.75 a month. I said what if I switched to Entertainment Extra + With Sports and Movies (HD is included in this package). That would be £31 a month but would require a 12 month contract. I'm happy to be with Sky for another year so I said yes and I've signed up for another year but at £31 a month for the whole package in HD :)

Entertainment Extra+ doesn't include Sports or Movies in HD though.

    The t&c state:

"new customers joining Sky TV (including past users who haven't had Sky in the last 12 months)."

I thought this, and I have since researched this and it seems you are right. However, I asked him repeatedly if I would have all the same channels in HD as I do now and he said yes, the only difference would be F1 Channel. I don't know what to do. As it stands though all the movies and sports channels are still in HD. I don't know what to do.
