  • I just had sky installed yesterday!!!!!
I am still within the cancellation period, I don't know if cancelling and reapplying is an option.....or calling them and appealing to their better nature.

    Absolutely gutted.

Why not just ditch $ky and get yourselves a FREESAT box. A 1-off cost for the box, then no more monthly subscriptions. It pays for itself in the first year and you're quids in every year thereafter. 100% coverage across the UK.
  • I called SKY and got put through to retentions - they applied the code for me. £16.00 per month instead of £32.00

Quick word on Freesat for those without a satellite dish (required for Freesat).

This Sky deal can be a very cost effective way of getting a Sky dish installed for future use of Freesat (same dish)
12 months at £10.75 (50%) off is £129 minus the £25 at M&S = £104 for 12 months of basic Sky, Sky Box and Dish install.

When we enquired locally for a standalone satellite dish to be installed we were quoted the lowest price of £95 + VAT = £114.

So we're now on Sky for 12 months after the last Sky deal on MSE (10 months left), with our old Humax Freesat HD box ready for action when our Sky contract expires. Sell the Sky Plus box and remote (circa £30-40) and the dish install looks cheap :)

  • I called sky today. Citing and complaining of MSE 50% offer for new customers and being a customer for 18 years + etc. Was offered a new HD box (which probably needed updating) free and 25% for 12 months including free movies. I am quite happy at 42.50 per month condsidering I have no competition in the area. (rural exchange). Lady was very charming.
