With the stereotypical "tight Scots" reputation ur accent prob helped too ;)

I have been a customer with sky for over 20 years and they have never given any discount to me, even when I have rung up bluffing to say I was wanting to cancel. I have the sports package and was so shocked last week when I got the letter to say its going up by £2.50 a month. Genuinely considering cancelling this time though.

Cancelled Sky TV in Feb but still hold line rental & Broadband which I am paying monthly. I have only had offers of 25% off for 12 months no 50% offers like some others.
Which is the best telephone number to call to see if they can offer a better deal to return on full package?

I called Sky last weekend to cancel and to my surprise they didn't make me any offers to stay.
Two days later I received a letter asking what they could do to retain my custom so I planned to call them in the next few days to see what they have to offer, but they called this morning while I was out but are calling back at 6pm.

So my question is how low will they go to keep my custom. I have all the channels except movies but none of the sky HD channels. I have come across an offer of £33 for 12 months for new customers for all channels including HD. As I'm not too bothered about the movies can I get them down to less than £25 for everything else?

Any help or suggestions on how to achieve it welcome.

What is the current price on full for the whole Sky package without discount? Seems confusing.

I cancelled with sky on 27th June. Had a missed call from them on 8th July. I'm in two minds as whether I should call them to "double check" my cut off date or just leave it.
I'm hooked on that hannibal and dare I say geordie shore:o
Do they still have the chat to an adviser online option?

can i just ask, people that are phoning Sky to say you'll cancel, if you've been offered 50% off (or similar), do you have another viable provider? just trying to gauge if this is the main factor as to why some are being offered a deal & others aren't.

we're in a non-cabled area & i'll bet my last 1p that if i phone to cancel, they'll just say 'ok'!!

    thanks :)

Well Sky have managed to get hold of me three attempts. I was out the other two but they told my son they would call back.

Without any haggling from me, and I enjoy a haggle I was offered either half price for 12 months or 6 months free. Now we all know they are the same thing but I'm thinking of taking the 6 months free and then renegotiating again after this.

Any views on the best way to go.
