Your card will have the entitlements sent to it again as you already have all the equipment.

We were paying sky £74.50 per month which was phone £19.50 , unlimited broadband £7.50, sky+, entertainment extra and sky sports package £47.50.

Have been a sky customer for 5 years.

We phone up 3 weeks ago and cancelled everything.

Today got a call from sky.........I accepted free tv - entertainment extra and sky sports package for free for 6 months, no contract, so our tv has been re-activated - it was due to all get cut off in around 7 days time.

So I asked about a discount on our phone and broadband and said he couldnt do that and if we wanted to re-activate the phone and broadband then we had to phone 150 to do that. Does that mean we can still haggle a bit on the phone/broadband?

So, £74.50 per month down to £27 per month for 6 months

Just gone through to sky cancellations and cancelled my daughters services as she is moving home. The best offer they came up with was Entertainment Extra, Talk freetime, unlimited BB,Sky sports and movies for £63/month. Whats the chances of retentions getting in touch with a better deal?

Currently on a 12 month 50% off deal that's ending in a week. I've cancelled, and managed to get the following offers:

    6 months completely free. Or:
    Another 12 months 50% off

    Both without contract.

However, when the guy tried to put either offer through, his system wouldn't let him because "I'm currently on an offer". I've asked him to call me back a few days after my subscription lapses, to see if either offer will then work.

    Will it then work??
  • Hi
Just cancelled virgin, was paying £96 a month for xl tv xl phone and 60M broadband + sports, movies.
Phoned sky, will be getting all above, broadband 40M +HD for £65 for 6 months then 85 for rest of 1 year contract, not massive savings, but the main concern was virgins apparent lack of interest in losing £1200 a year
There did not seem to be any interest in keeping me,did not offer anything, maybe they simply cant compete, but you would have expected them to at least try.
Any way done now and at least i`ll be away from the superhub and its useless wireless.

I called to cancel all my Sky TV and was only offered 20% discount for 9 months. I have sky sports and used to get 50% discount. Haven't called them for over a year and they had no record of my previous discounts, so thought it was my first time. Told them 20% wasn't enough and that I want to cancel my TV subscriptions but they want 31 days notice. I hope they get back to me with a better deal or I'll probably try the BT sports channels and hope I don't miss all the sport Sky has. I love sport but perhaps it's time to get in to films instead and have some money in my bank account. Hopefully there will be cheaper alternatives to Sky when everything goes online.

Did they offer you this when you phoned to cancel or did they call you back after you cancelled?

I currently have 50% off finishing the end of June phoned and asked about offers was only offered 10% off so have cancelled.

Hope they ring with a better offer.

Haven't cancelled the phone and broadband as she said I should just get those taken over by another provider, that if I cancelled my phone and broadband I would be without them for a week or more as another provider wouldn't be able to take them over during the cancellation time. It sounded gobbly gook to me.

No they didn't offer anything as good when I phoned to cancel.

I then seemed to regularly miss calls from an 0800 number which I think were from Sky, so I called them back. The best they did then was to offer it at just over half price (half price is ~£32 and they offered it for ~£35). I didn't accept that, but instead called them back a week or so later, which is when they offered me the above, but as I said, the system didn't let him put it through.

Sky customer for 4 years paying £51 for standard entertainment package plus HD and full sky sports.

Threatened to cancel. Offered nothing. Duly cancelled.

Call back 1 1/2 weeks later. Offered either £10.50 off for 12 months or £21 off for 6 months. No contract and guy made it quite clear that I could call again and cancel after 6 months and similar deal may well be available. He also offered to take sports off for the summer immediately and said there were offers available for reactivating.

So down to £10.50 a month for now, up to £31.50 a month when football season starts. Have settled for that. I think I may have got a better offer if had played chicken for longer, but was satisfied with this.
