Spoke to sky before and Maria or was it Mria offered me multiroom free for 12 months (£10.25 p/m) and the free wireless connector.

I've took it, because she advised that it does not tie me into a new contract and also that it will not have an adverse affect on my ability to negotiate a lower price if (when) I call back,

I told her it wasn't a big enough saving, but as long as it wouldn't have an adverse affect on ym ability to negotiate a better deal I would take it as it was still a saving.

My bill will still be well over £90 and we still only have one sky + box as the other is hd only, plus no espn... so a pretty !!!! poor deal compared to some on here.

When I call back up I'll see what they say - I will happily cancel if I don't get a reasponable deal and I'll sell the free wireless connector on eBay if I have to cancel.

As I had her expressely state that taking the offer would not affect me when I call back up, if they say this i'll be swiftly raising a complaint, which may get me a courtesy deal.

    Meh we'll see.

How can your bill be £90pm without ESPN and with free multiroom? At standard prices, Sky World HD plus multiroom would be less than that.

We've got multiroom (1 extra box), Sky sports, Movies, HD and unlimited BB with unlimited calls.

    Is £90 ish still correct?

Yes, for a new customer that'd be over £100pm. You didn't indicate that you had phone & broadband too - this would cost an extra £15pm minimum over just TV. In your case, it's £27pm.

I've just cancelled my VM package (L TV, 20MB BB (was 10MB, Standard PL), the package started at £41.90 when we started 18 months ago and now is £51.20, rang 2 weeks ago to try and negotiate a good price, mentioned the price increases etc and was told i could have £5 off per month for 6 months but if i didn't take it then and phoned back later the offer wouldn't be there and that was it and he was extremely pushy and after getting off the phone i was rather frustrated so went hunting for other deals.

Phoned back again today and to be honest it would have been easier for the retentions bloke to say "we don't care if you leave", offered me the same as two weeks ago and basically told me take it or leave it, also slagged off Sky with the "well they only offer you vouchers and money off thats how they get new customers!" i didn't take well to being talked down to like that so mentioned i'd had a leaflet drop from them today offering half price on packages for new customers........yep you do it too!

5th July my packaged ends going with Sky for £15 less per month (but still get everything i want), 1/2 price on the tv package for 6 months plus £60 cashback, plus £100 M&S Voucher.

Hoping for better things from Sky.

Have to say the customer service i've had and the attitude i've had from everyone at Virgin has been downright dreadful from the day we joined, they cocked up our installation before christmas 2011 and couldn't do for some reason so when i rang for help the chap said "well perhaps you should have gone with sky then!!" could understand it if i rang up shouting the odds and swearing and stuff but im always nice and try to be polite as i know they are only doing a job but that's clearly got me no where.

After putting a cancellation request in a week to two ago I got a callback from Sky's retention team, their offer was 50% off Sky World, multiroom and HD for 12 months with no contract, I pushed for free HD or multiroom but they wouldn't budge, so I accepted their offer.

Not 5 minutes after accepting their offer they sent me an email saying I could have a free 2TB HD box as well, I'm pretty happy overall

It seems things weren't going to be easy as I thought with Sky, instead of applying the above offer the guy I spoke to instead cancelled my account. I phoned Sky to query what's going on, the lady I spoke to puts me on hold for half an hour, then says she'll look into it and call me back.

Three days later after hearing nothing I phone them again to be told my account is cancelled and nothing else has been done. I'm then put through to the sales team who say I can have Entertainment Extra Plus for half price but I'd pay full price for multiroom and I'd lose Sky F1 HD as it'd be a new account. Not good enough I say, that wasn't the deal, she goes to talk to her manager, comes back and offers half price Entertainment Extra Plus, free multiroom and free Sky Sports for 12 months, plus a £15 credit for the hassle.

I'm obviously happy with this but really could have done without the hassle, I hope I don't have to do this all again in a years time

I cancelled my entire sky package 3 weeks ago. Today I received a call. Was offered the full tv package including HD for £38 per month for 12 months. I was told that's half price but full price for HD. I am happy enough now to continue with sky.

We cancelled our package with Sky May 23rd

We have sky, phone, broadband, tv, sports, coming in around £80 per month.

We phoned them 23rd and told them it was too much, they only offered £5 off per month which we declined.

Cut-off day is 20th June and we have heard nothing at all from them, thought they might have called to offer us a deal, but no.

What happens if we wait til past 20th, we get cut-off from sky.....what then if we call them up the following week and want back on with sky, is there a re-installation charge? or is just as simple as we are switched back on?

No re-installation charge and, assuming your box is still set up, reactivation of channels is often instant (and 24 hours at most).
