Got a letter offering sky half price for 12 months today.

    was cut off on 20/03.

tempted to wait and see if i get a 75% off offer as have been offered this before after turning down 50%.

May have to wait, google sky 75 off and most seem to be dated March and September

I phoned sky to cancel my tv package today but still wanted to keep phone and broadband.

I told them the truth - that husband has left and I can't afford it. I was put through to cancellations dept. and the lady I spoke to told me there was a special offer on at the moment. After putting me on hold for a minute, she came back and told me that if I sign up for a new 12 month contract I can keep my exisiting package for £20 a month less! I accepted and I'm happy with this. Maybe I could have got a bigger discount but I'm currently paying £35 a month for the Tv package so I think this is quite good really. :D

    Hi all

    Interesting times.

I was a SKY customer and had TV, phone, BB and line rental. I have enjoyed the "roulette" of cancelling and been offered good incentives to stay over the years (had 50% off everything, free line rental, free BB at various points).

I moved away my BB and phone to plus.net in Feb. Great service, so much better than sky.

Now all I have is Sky TV basic package (£20ish a month).

I cancelled TV about a month ago and have had various sky people call me at home and on mobile. None of them will budge further than a 10% cut in costs.

Had another call tonight and asked them to beat the 10% deal already offered or dont call again. The caller apologised and would "take me off the system" for call backs!

So thats that, I have about 10 days left before its gone and we have all got used to no sky.

I would say Sky have changed their stance. It was never this hard.

I just can't justify the charge for what we use and won't pay the amount they ask!

SO no sky for us, quite looking forward to it.!

Was paying them over £70.... Rang last week to cancel/negotiate ..they offered me £4 discount ...or to downgrade my packages...there was no shifting them.
They accepted my cancelation and I have already had the confirmation in writing along with my Mac code.

Has anyone tried ringing up to cancel sports for the summer, last year I got some offer cant remember what to keep it if they are doing the same this year i'll do it again, but don't really want to cancel because of the cricket.

They offered me to keep it for £5 a month for 4 months. I still said no because I just won't watch it. She couldn't believe I still wanted to cancel it even though I'd said I wont' watch it at all. £5 a month is still too much money if I won't watch it!

I'd suggest you don't tell them you like the cricket otherwise they won't offer you the deal - they are getting very streetwise!

Thanks, this worked £5 for sports for 4 months, they do ask what sports you watch before giving the offer.

The only sport I really watch besides football is tennis, and Wimbledon and the French Open are on FTA TV, so no need for Sky Sports during the summer.

Cool. It's a nice little deal if you do want to keep Sports - effectively 4 months for the price of 1.
