I think you'll have to get used to Freesat-From-Sky.0 -
Apart from movies, we have all channels + HD + unlimited calls + unlimited BB.
I just rang Sky as I went out of contract last month and our monthly cost jumped up to £85 once all the offers that were valid for thee previous 12 months came off. (Before last month we were paying something like £62 on a 50% TV offer)
They added movies and got the cost down to £71 a month without tying us into another 12 months.
Not the greatest deal but it seems ok to us. We receive 5mbps speed which is more than enough for us and over the last 5 years, we have never had any issues with their service.:beer:0 -
I gave notice a couple of weeks ago, I still have old sky box from 2001 and I think they offered me a new box (or they asked the question what if we give you a new box). I have not asked for anything and I had someone ring me re Sky survey.recently. I have never had an offer, are they likely to offer me something? I am ready to buy a new tv so I am wondering if I should buy a tv with freesat connection (or separate box) or wait for them to offer a good deal.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Personally I'd buy one with Freesat built in anyway. We did and it's nice when we're recording 2 things but don't want to watch either to just flick it over to Freesat HD. And should we ever ditch Sky it's a nice boxless HD solution. I don't know if that makes the TV much more expensive.0 -
Hi all!!
Been considering Sky for a long time & finally picked up the phone to do a bit of haggling & this is what i've been offered:
Sky Entertainment Extra, Sky + box, unlimited broadband, line rental & router etc all included. 12 month contract.
Cost is £27.75 including vat for 1st 6 months, £48.50 a month after that. Can anyone a bit more familiar advise if this is a good deal? Would I be better ordering online & using Quidco? I am very tempted by this offer- I asked the guy to call me back tomorrow evening. I would probably be adding sky sports to this for an additional £21 a month.
Thanks a lot in advance for any feedback. Stephen.0 -
You're essentially getting line rental and broadband for ~£1pm. Do you not have HD though? If you're a new customer you always get an HD box, and you could get Entertainment Extra+, which includes the Entertainment HD channels, for £5pm more (or less if you haggle).0

Hi Everyone, here is my tale of woe (edited version)
About 5 years ago I became a Sky customer, and THEY set up my set up,which included an extension from the router(living room) to the Hall.
A few weeks ago this went wrong so we had phone problems, but the internet was OK,so we rang them, and eventually had to have the phone wire from outside the house to the pole replaced, but after the engineer went,we found we still had problems.
Rang Sky,and the nasty man there was utterly unhelpful, telling me to move my router to the hall (Hang on there while I just move a HUGE shelving unit )and when I couldn't (I am disabled and OH recovering from a big op)he said he could not help me any more. When I asked to speak to his supervisor he said he couldn't do that.Ended up saying I was leaving and put the phone down:mad:
Rang back and was told the extension should not have been put in,but they where not going to do anything about it,but could credit my account with help towards the cost of fixing the problem.Said I would think about it,bt would probably leave,She then offered to put me through to disconnections which I declined (caught on the hop there)
Rang back yet again to ask how much I would be credited, and this person nearly laughed in my face.He said Sky never ever did this, and I was stuck with having to fix the problem myself,I also told him I was going to leave and he said it was a shame.:exclamatiYeah I'll say!!
So now,I have sort of fixed the problem, but do you think I stand a chance of getting any discounts?Virgin quoted me £43 for 6 mths, but then over 70 after si changing is not an option.
I have an old sky box, entertainment TV,BB unlimited and phone.I would love to have Sky + but do not want to have to pay every month.I have just been stung by them asking for an extra £7.50 a mth because of BB usage so I REALLY resent having to pay them any more now
I am writing a letter of complaint to sky,why should I be offered onr thing by one person, then nothing off the next. Why should I put up with sub-standard services?Anyone know the best person to address this to?:(:(:mad:0 -
Sounds like you would have been better off not hanging up and when they suggested putting you through to disconnections letting them. It seems standard that anything Sky ever offer you on the phone is only valid at that point in time.
You'd be better off ringing again, explaining the issues again saying you want to cancel and going through the process. If they don't offer you anything decent you've got 31 days to change your mind.0 -
I'm not sure how far you'll get with this, fully five years after your initial installation.
Just write your letter to the Customer Service Department. Only escalate it higher if you are still unhappy after they reply.ultramagnetic_commuter wrote: »You'd be better off ringing again, explaining the issues again saying you want to cancel and going through the process.0 -

If you plug the phone into the living room socket does it work?
If you plug the phone into the hall socket does it work?
Do you have filters on all extensions and/or a splitter at the faceplate?0
