If I can find 40 decent channels on FreeSat I think I will be happy.0

Can you still watch previously recorded FTA channels after Sky kill your subs?0

Currently on Virgin for TV + phone + line rental at £26.99 a month. Contract ends in June 2013.
Need to add Broadband to the package now - offer is £14 a month extra, but need to sign an additional 12 months contract.
Alternative is to bail out of the Virgin deal now, and take up the Talk Talk TV, broadband and phone package for £31 a month on an 18 month contract.
I reckon over 18 months, I'd be about £100 in total better off with Talk Talk, unless I can negotiate a better deal from Virgin.
Only got 2 days left before the Talk Talk offer expires - what do you advise? Any tactics to employ if calling Virgin's 'contract cancelling' support line?Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
Got another 50% off flyer in the mail yesterday, that's the third one in 4 weeks, offer ends 14/03/13. Will hold off as i reckon the 75% off will be offered in April.0

Nope all recordings on sky plus won't be available once subscription has ended.
I just got my call from sky today trying to stop me cancelling, they offered me 25% off my TV package, not what I was looking for tbh, so I declined their offer.
I did ask about the above (re: saved programs), and they said indeed the recordings wont be available when the suscription ends, however if you sign up once more and use the same box, you will be able to watch them again. Good to know if ure after a 50% off deal in the post.0 -

So... I just had 'the call'... :j
Had the usual 'why are you leaving' etc etc.
Told him (I think it was a him, I'm still sure I had a nice conversation with a lovely Scottish man called 'Sandra'? :rotfl: - couldn't tell if with Sam/something similar...)
Anyway... told him we'd already arranged VMedia. Planning on not using landline so it's only really the TV we'd be wanting to keep if we could be tempted to.
Details:
Before (just TV) £36.75, Entertainment Plus + HD
Now: 6 Months @ £24.87 followed by 6 months £30.13. :T
If I chose to bin-off HD channels, it would have been £19.87 and £25ish respectively. We do use the HD/Sky Sports F1 heavily here so that was necessary.
It's basically 25% off for 12 months, with an extra 50% off the HD Price for 6 months.
Enquired about Sports - offer was £35.60ish for 6 months, then £40.63 for 6. Very nearly swung for it, but I thought that Mrs Jetters-to-be might have had something to say about it... :rotfl:
Any ideas of success if I could ring them back asking to honour that Sports deal if she swings for it? :A
All in all, pretty happy.
Beforehand, total Sky bill was about £58-63ish.
Now, Sky + Virgin will be £42 for first few months, maxing out at £52.50ish, with 30MB Broadband instead of pitiful 1.5MB internet from Sky.
We're both on great Three phones with loads of minutes so losing the house phone is not a problem. A benefit, if anything.
Thanks for all the help here! Good luck to you all! :beer:0
