We have just rung O2 about leaving and they said "why? but I think I know the answer, is it because of the sky take over?" Yes, they didn't even try and persuade us other wise. Have gone to BT Infinity.0

Called Sky to cancel our Sky+ full package.
They called back eventually and gave half price for a year and free HD box to self-install.
Thanks everyone for the heads up.0 -
Virgin media called earlier to offer vip package at half price for 1 year on 18 month contract. Always bit worried about doing this over the phone without having any adverts etc to refer to. I can't find anything online about this good deal either. I was looking to possibly change using Quidco to get cash back but their offer only cover half price for 6 months. Does anyone know of this new offer please?
many thanks0 -
I wouldn't accept a new contract. I dunno about Virgin Media but Sky's offers rarely stipulate this. Hell, you can move house in the last month of your contract and they'll set it all up for free and you leave them a month later.0

15 days left until my Sky cancellation. I'm going to wait until a day or two before to see if they'll do me a deal half price. If not, it'll be adios.0

Just spent half an hour on the phone to Sky - initially India, then UK - and was basically offered nothing.
I currently pay £918 a year - I have HD, sports and broadband (I get 11 meg), but no movies - but they response was essentially "Go on then, go to Virgin".
Was at least expecting a free upgrade to fibre broadband.
Although it would be a pain to lose some channels - Sky Atlantic, Food Network (no, really...:embarasse) - I'm actually now tempted.
Seeing the current Quidco cash-back deal, I'm calculating their top 'VIP' package as coming out as £730 for the first 12 months*. That gives you 100 () meg, and all phone calls free. It's way more than I want/need, but if even that's cheaper....
*Can someone tell me, what's Virgin's policy about changing (or more specifically down-grading) packages. With it being an 18 month contract, I need to understand if/when I can cut back.0 -
Hi, sorry if this has already been covered.
Basically our Sky is due to be cut off today as we have served our 1 month notice. We had an excellent package. Basically we were paying £44 a month for Sky World HD including multi room, TV only as we are with Virgin for our broadband and phone.
I have just received a voucher for half price Sky for 12 months via voucher codes but for new customers only. I live with my partner (not married) and the Sky account has always been in my name.
Would he be able to sign up as a new customer now the contract has ended? I realise I cannot rejoin Sky as a new customer until after 1 year but was wondering if it would be the same for him?
Basically I don't want to phone Sky and ask them in case they put a black mark against my account if I ask them could I do this?
Thanks for your impending replies.0 -
As far as I know, it's hit and miss. Sometimes you can do it, sometimes they figure out what you're doing.0

Well now been switched off from Sky since 12 Feb. No offers until today when received by post a 25% for the year offer.
Cant say I am missing as much as expected as using more of BBC I Player etc to catch up on missed prgrammes.
Will need a 50% offer to get me back but will I get it?0 -
