Why. They offer a service, you decide if you want to pay for it or not. All the content and infrastructure doesnt come for free.
Maybe so but £70 a month is hugely overpriced. And also they don't do the same deals and discounts for all customers. And also they give new customers a better deal than those who have been with them for years. :mad:0 -

The whole 'deal' business it a tricky one. I agree that it should be a level playing field but I imagine that the marketing department would have kittens if all deals were banned.
Look at B&Q saying they are not having a price promotion with their 'handy prices' whilst advertising it as a price promotion...
Human nature is hard coded to expect a 'deal' and it is a brave retailer who doesn't offer one.0 -
Ugh, just realised I can't record anymore :-( Looks like they've got me over a barrel - will probably have to go back to them and pay top whack. I hate Sky :-(
If you hate Sky and just miss the recording aspect of Sky+, then why not buy a Freeview PVR?

So I called up again today, and they gave me 50% off for 6 months. I rang yesterday and the day before too, and they couldn't offer me anything. Just shows it's worth persevering0

You can cancel now.
Called to downgrade my TV package from XL to M.
Then was told it would put me with a new 12 months contract..
I asked to speak to a supervisor because there was no way I would accept this (I am out of contract with them)
And the supervisor told me there is no changes in the terms when changing packages.0 -
What's the best number to ring when wanting to cancelling sky?0

Been offered 25% off for 6 months but no discount on hd subscription.
I'm due to be cut off on Friday so not looking promising. Annoyingly I now wish I'd mentioned something about my box to see if I could have got that thrown in or something but still it isn't a good offer really0 -

Just call, say you want to cancel, they will say ok and give you a date in a month. Then just sit and wait..
I had a TV only contract and cancelled due to the contract going from £16-£19 a month to go on a Sky half price deal
About 3 days after cancelling I was contacted. And then 3 times a day for the next 3 weeks until I answered again. Still left but by god do they want people to stay0
