As a former employee of sky I have a bit if understanding of how they work. My main advice would be phone up the ask to be transerred to the cancellations department. If you get through(often long wait) just say you want to cancel because its to expensive. Theyll offer you some sort of offer. Say no. You can haggle them even more. Another way, and possibly the best way is to go on there website and email them, or get there address and write to them. They dont have a complaint departmant on the phones so this is the only way you can make an offical complaint. SO just write in saying you want to cancel, youve been a loyal customer for ages and that your upset with recent price rises etc. Theyl uselly offer you something nice. Definately worth the time0

Any way of getting virgin price down? Ive been with them for must be 12 odd yrs. this last yr we had engineer out loads cos we cant watch hd channels they just stutter or freeze. They have done loads of diff things and say they see if it works. The last thing they did was change the viewing card and it is better but not perfect... I had 3 boxes with them and broadband and recently cancelled the landline.. I am tempted in july wen contract up to cancel for gud as im payin alot more than most are.. Does anyone have any gud deals i can quote to get and a number i can contact them off my mobile as 0845 cost loads to ring and we donthave the landline anymore... Thanks in advance0

No Sky now for 4 days, doesn't bother me, catch up tv, iplayer LoveFilm will suffice for now. Need to get a HD recorder for recording and live pause, one months subscription cost to Sky so their offer will need to be even better now!!0

Once your cancellation takes effect you should be better able to negotiate. Responsibility for your account moves from the Cancellation Department (who have limited deals IMHO) to the Win-Back Department who have much greater flexibility and can offer bigger discounts.
If your subscription is now cancelled and you are fed up waiting for the offer letter give Sky a call skip Cancellations and get through to the Win-Back Department, you may be pleasantly surprised.0 -

How do you get through to the win back department when phoning? (I've had no TV subscription since the beginning of Feb)0 -
Quick question about Virgin and cancellation. I got one of their superhubs a few months back but stayed on exactly the same package etc. I assume that this didn't extend my contract as there was certainly no mention of thag when I did it.
I have had calls recently about wanting to review my package so hopefully that's a sign that I am out of contract?0 -
The only think that'll likely tempt me to 'uncancel' is half price. I've due to be turned off in 12 days. What are my odds on getting what I want?0

My box goes off on the 19th, we had the total entertainment package, for 12 years, we have paid them so much over time!
We would like to keep movies and sport, and may go elsewhere, I haven't had a call to win us back!
I may try the win back dept though, could also possibly be happy to give them our phone and broadband business.
How would I get through quickly to the win back dept please?
Thanks

Rayhool and nigandjules, I was connected to the win-back department after the person who answered their 0207 126 7020 number put me through to the cancellations department. As soon as cancellations realised I have been disconnected the lady said, you have been put through to the wrong department. I asked what department did I need and she said the Win-back department. I asked if she could transfer me and she did. I imagine if you call customer services say you have been disconnected and ask to be put through to the win-back department they should put you through.0
