Have signed up for VMedia BBand, due to install the day before the Sky cut off.
Used TCB to get £38 cash back to cover the £50 'install' fee. :rotfl:

Have just filled in a Sky "Where did we go wrong?" survey that I got emailed. Gave my usual responses along the usual line of "crap broadband speed, too expensive" and we'll wait and see.

I spoke to an advisor the other day confirming my last bill and cut off date - she did not hint at keeping me/offering any sort of deal at all.:(

I am an existing customer and an offer fof the HD pack for £2.50 a month for 12 months (75% off) landed on the mat this morning.

Its a tempting offer but the half price offer on my TV package will be ending soon and if I add HD then I wont be able to cancel the TV part and see if I get offered it 1/2 price again as the two are linked.
  • On the day before Sky cut off, I call sky on free number. after 50 mins they offered my a free sky+ box plus free installation , half price multiroom with no contract obligations. I cancelled sport channel but can renew whenever I want especially when football season starts and maybe they will have some deals. Brought my bill down from £57.75 per month to £31.25 per month. I really wanted a new box as the one I have is the old Pace model and can't get on demand. I would have had to pay for it if I hadn't cancelled sky. So job is a 'gud un'

The first begging letter has come from Sky to go back to the HD pack.

Only £2.50 a month for 6 months then back to full price.

Went straight into the bin, the free-to-air HD channels are enough for us.

I don't think I will get any begging letters when my service comes to an end on the 24th of march. I wrote an email to the CEO of sky about my service and offer and got a not so nice reply from the executive team. Saying I have had enough discounts. So oh well lol. I got told not to email the CEO again. Lol.
  • Hello,

i sent an email to sky regarding how i was a loyal customer and i had been paying the full package for years. They offered me 20% off, thats a saving of approx £240-250 over a year.

I'm a customer of 13 years + and my last 3 bills have all been in excess of £110. I've got phone, broadband, TV, HD etc and have had for over 3 years so its quite an expense when you total it up. I rang to cancel last Monday due to a genuine recent change in financial circumstances, only the 2nd time in all my custom I've ever called them, and I was offered £8 discount for 3 months and then they cut me off instead of putting me through to another dept.

2nd call I was on hold for 25 minutes before I gave up.

3rd call was 30 mins later. I was told existing customers always get the best deals and pay the least. I was offered £9 discount for 3 months. I quoted the deal on MSE and said as a loyal customer and given what the chap had said, surely he could oblige. The outcome - service turns off 23rd March!

I'm not sure I'd even accept an offer if they call now.

I have been with sky for around 20 years now and have never had any discount off my account. Phoned them up a couple of times over the years asking what was on offer and they said nothing and even when I suggested I cancel my subscription, they were willing to go ahead and cancel it. I never have any luck with things.

So why don't you actually cancel? If you're not prepared to cancel, you won't get good offers.

I've often wondered about this. The Sky card gets entitlement updates well in advance - usually 2 months. So if you cancel within 30 days, does it keep working until that runs out, or do they send more updates to remove entitlements?

I was prepared to cancel and they just said ok, and never offered me any discount. But I had to say I needed to think about it in the end, cos my dad and brother would miss the sports channels. Its them who actually pay for sky, its just in my name
