Nah they're not upgrading our area to Infinity until at least the end of the year.
It seems crazy that BT/etc are plugging this Infinity/Fibre optic broadband as the future etc... whereas Virgin Media have been doing it for years :wall:
After chatting with Mrs Jetters (or rather, Mrs Jetters-to-be I should say...) she'd rather go for VMedia BB, no house phone and have Sky TV.
I'm going to use TCB for VMedia which'll cancel out a lot of the 'installation' fee - when we last had it in our old flat a few years back we installed it ourselves for free with no problems?
Anyway... Still awaiting 'the call' from Sky...0 -
I want to bring down my price package on VMedia but do not know how to go about it.
The price is staggering and half the package I don't even use. I have a mobile for contact so never use my land line yet I am getting billed for this.
I am on XL but would like to decrease to L if possible.
Anybody have tips on what I need to be doing when I call them up or put me on the right track please.PDL Free!

Are you still in minimum term? If you aren't, downgrade. If you are, then they won't let you, or will give you a minimal saving if they do.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Why don't you list what services you have and how much you pay and when you signed up0 -
Cancelled Sky on 22nd Jan. No offers, no calls - got disconnected on 22nd Feb. Was waiting for a call last week as well but still didn't receive a call.
HOWEVER, I did call them today and told them that I received a mail asking me to call Sky to see what they can do for them. (I never received such a mail). Surprisingly they checked the account for offers and told me that I can have 12 months half price, no contract - any package I want to have. I went for the Sports Pack with HD. So if you have been waiting for sometime for "the call" may be it's worth to give them a call instead!!!0 -

That's exactly what I plan to do in the last couple of days if no phone call comes. Surely the person you speak to doesn't know exactly which emails you've had from the various departments anyway?0 -
Called Sky to cancel today as I am within the last month of my contract.
Current package = Unlimited Broadband and Line Rental (£22) + Basic TV (21.50) = £43.50.
Wanted to move to TalkTalk for - Unlimited Broadband, Line Rental and TV (freeview but with a youview box) = £25.00
Sky (after a lot of haggling) offered me the TV for £5 a month for 3 months. Meaning I will pay £27 per month for the next three months for unlimited broadband, line rental and the basic TV package.
This is on a rolling contract (no tie in). Basically I was advised to do this and then call back in 3 months and see what new deals are available.
It may not be a long term solution but to save the hassle of changing providers and to keep Sky1,2 and Atlantic for £2 a month extra I don't mind. Better to pay £27 for 3 months than £43.50!
