Was wondering if this would be a better deal for me.

I suspect thats a new customer offer but no harm in calling them up and seeing what they say.

Since pinkl0ve27 is currently a Virgin customer seeking to switch providers, the fact that the link refers to a new customer offer is irrelevant surely? Or are you saying that because the offer is only for a temporary period at the outset?

Misread, thought they were an existing sky customer.

When I checked the bundle package it said nothing about a limited offer basis when checking the final offer deal from what I could see.

Well I cancelled my £75 month Sky, it would terminate 17th Feb; had a phone call today asking the reasons for cancelling, said too expensive, was actually a nice chap, said he'd like me too stay and offered 50% off for 12 months no contract, well I bit his hand off! I really do think its luck of the draw who you speak too because when I cancelled originally they offered nowt! Happy chappy!

from another forum i am on, someone got a letter offering them 75% off if they called up.

i am just off the phone to the bring back team and got told there are no offers at all just now after 10 minutes on hold, she offered me £5 off a month.

so, as others have said it does depend on who you speak to.

It is all so random. I am now cut off from sky as of yesterday and never received a phone call or email. No contact at all just "No problem sir your services will be cancelled in 31 days " and that is exactly what happened.
  • Would you say it may be wise to get in contact with Virgin Media and tell them I have researched better offers elsewhere and see if that can trigger them into giving me a better package to suit my needs?

Yes I would. Have the details of the package you are going to go with ready for when they question you, they do know what deals the others are offering.
