Sky is payment in advance so the service should be on for the next 30 days after you have given them your 30 days notice.
You can see the current billing period on your My Sky pages.0 -

Have been on the phone twice to Sky today (very politely). I currently pay £75 for my bundle telly, phone, bband + movies + multiroom. First they offered me £3 off wooo. (Not)
Then they took off movies and mutiroom + £3 and called it £41 (I could have done that myself). She couldn't do any more for me so said I'd think. Called back spoke to a guy who shaved a few bits off here and there for 3 months only and then it goes back up again. Told him I wanted to disconnect, he said my broadband and phone will cut off immediately if I do that. I can't have that happen feel so stupid.

It's for that exact reason I won't be tempted to switch my phone or broadband to Sky. Once you've put all your eggs in their basket they have an even stronger hold over your ongoing custom.0 -
Tried to haggle with Sky today as just come off a discount - no chance - they just agreed with me to come off Sports package in the Summer as we watch the football mostly, no other offers at all and I've been with them for 12 years so think they're not as generous as they used to be0

I'll be doing the same with Sky Sports (don't forget to ring a month BEFORE the season ends!). It'll be interesting to see if they offer me a deal not to drop it as they don't like losing all those subscribers during the summer.0 -
give sky my 30 days notice yesterday and tried the ive had a missed call from yourselves today see if it gt me anywhere spoke to a nice chap who said not sure why they've called as there are no offers at the minute but he did say before you switch to virgin hold off for a couple of weeks then there are always offers available that become active closer to disconnection date so gonna take his advice and wait 2 weeks see what they say then I will update as soon as I have one.0

3rd call to sky and managed to Make a few changes in package plus a £17 reduction in monthly bill for 9 months.
Don't give up!
Ps did you know that Xbox live subscribers can get all their channels thru their console by downloading the app and using your sky password etc. So it's like a free multiroom in effect? My eldest will be so chuffed esp. Now we have sports channels.0 -
I'm with Virgin Media and was very unhappy with the new price rises due to take affect in Feb.
I'm currently on
60MB Broadband
XL Tv
0845 and Weekend Calls (Phone including line rental)
Tivo Box
Virgin HD Box
I pay 48.90, I was due to rise to over 55 as some of my recurring credits were due to fall off.
My argument with Virgin was that I wasnt aware of this rise and that the rise consituted to more than 9% rise and I was well within my right to cancel due to it being over a certain percentage (Cant remember exactly what it is)
So I had an arguement, Complained.... then got an offer from the team manager to keep my prices unchanged and to put my recurring credits back on my account.
I'm happy with the service, its all good. I'm just not happy with above inflation rises.0 -

Given that you pay for stuff a month in advance (I think), I fail to see how that would work.
I'd have ripped him a new a**ehole on the phone.
All calls are recorded, so I'd be inclined to note the time of the call and ask to speak to a manager and get the call listened to.
If it turns out that he was lying, then it may be worth e-mailing the sky ceo etc as you will possibly get a good deal out of it.0 -
Hi, I currently have a virgin package of tv, broadband and telephone. It looks like i am tied into a 18 month contract. The tv is a xl package hd box with sports and one multiroom, weekend and evening calls and x amount of internet usage. we had the first 6 months for half price but My bill is now currently £90 a month which was fine until i got made redundant recently from my job. when explaining this to virgin they said that if i cut down on my deal it would void the current "special" deal therefore wouldnt be any cheaper.
If i could get some advice on this that would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Given that the Virgin Media Classic package is £33 per month, I think they were lying.
You'd have to sacrifice some channels, but needs must and all. You need to add multiroom etc on that.
Have a play on the vm site, I'm sure you'll find something cheaper.0
