no luck for me i'm afraid. been with virgin media 15years (since the diamond cable/ntl days) decided to ring to try & reduce my bill (£48.50 tv xl in 2 rooms, 1 pause/rewind/record box before tivo, broadband 10meg with no phone) politely explained i wanted to stay with them but wanted to reduce the costs. no offers so gave my 30 days notice. after 1 week got a phone call asking if theres anything they could do to keep me, yes please i said, reduce the costs please. but again no offers. my 30 days is now over & been disconnected, i swallowed my pride & rang back to be reconnected on their "best" deal. but have now been told to connect to the same package is more money than before as i must have already been on a loyalty discount which i can no longer get as ive disconnected & cannot get their new customer offers until ive not been a customer for more than 12months. gutted!!!0

You woul be re-entered into another 12 mnths contract with an upgrade to Sky+HD, & you would only get the box free if you took the HD subscription at £10.25 per month.
HthYou can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -

If a Sky+HD box is installed by the 'engineer' as part of the repair process, there is no need to take an HD sub because the box will just be performing Sky+ functions.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Hi all,
How does the website actually release these codes?0 -
Having had a good look at this forum regarding reducing your Sky costs, many of the comments are from 2011 when offers were being handed out left, right and centre. This is also a very clever way to dupe customers looking at these comments that offers are still being given out to the same value. Most of you wont make it to this page as its never cleared by the website to keep it up to date.
Let me tell you more..... Sky have now changed tactic and their teams I.e, Retentions, turnaround etc. are all part of a programme which reduces the amount of offers a customer should receive in order to stop them from cancelling. Therefore the days of customers receiving 50% or 25% off for 6/12 months is no longer an option.
Call and ask, you will be told the same as I'm advising. The only option you have to get reduced costs is by getting a code from this website for 50% off, which to me seems a bit of a con by this website.
Risk it at your pearl!!0 -

Whilst Sky aren't handing out offers as much as years gone by they are still available. I phoned them up and within the shortest amount of time was offered line rental reduced to £3.00 per month rather than £14.99 (effectively 20% reduction on my bill) for 12 months with no contractual tie in.0 -
I have asked sky on numerous occasions for a "deal" - as I have been a customer for at least 6 years - they simply tell me that if I am not happy - I can cancel (at no cost to myself) - the cheek of it !!0
