Any one rang sky to cancel tv only and keep bb &talk.
Whats the likely outcome,i know i could ring and find out for myself but a bit worried about my haggling skills.Happy to let em cancel it to be honest but of course i am open to offers as i do like my football and cricket.
Why is it so expensive....gggrrr
If you are happy to let them cancel then do so as you will probably get a better offer in a few days as a result. You can also call up the day before disconnection to say you have changed your mind so what have you got to lose?
All the infrastructure, royalty fees for the content, staff wages, etc. doesnt come cheap...0 -

I currently have the full package with one multiroom and espn. I have the old sky plus box and have been with sky since 2001.
I cannot get virgin in my area.
I have got a free hd+ box with free installation. I have also got my monthly fee (£74.75) reduced to £63.85. I then wanted hd channels for which they will charge £5.00 extra, so now £68.85 a month for 12 months. I can add or remove any of the channels whenever I want. By agreeing the new package I get new box incl installation free which is what i really wanted and agree to remain with Sky for another 12 months.
I am pleased with the deal, so thank you moneysavingexpert for getting me to look into a deal. :j:T0 -
I managed to get a code and followed the link provided and found that the URL was broken, tried again later and the link worked only problem was that the code was not useable it stated the following: 'We do not recognise the offer associated with the code you've entered. Please check that you have entered the offer code correctly'.
I am an existing Sky customer but haven't had any offers for a good few years so should have been able to make use of the code as the blurb stated , I have contacted Sky and they cannot assist, no suprise there.
Can anyone suggest anything to help?0 -
What code did you get as one was for new customers, one existing.
If you are an existing customer then the new customer code wont work, only the one for half price HD.0 -
As far as I was aware the code was the code with no differentiation and how would I know which code I had?
The site described the offer as such: 'New Sky customers (or those who last had it over 12 months ago) can use these codes for a year's 50% off broadband and ALL TV packages - including Movies, Sport & World (not HD), plus a £25 M&S voucher. This can mean savings of £36/month. If you got a code last time, you can't get one again'.
It mentions nothing about separate codes for new or existing, am I missing something here?0 -
On this page the email box defaulted to new customers. You had to click the small 'existing' option in the top right to switch to the HD upgrade offer:

So as an existing customer I would not have been able to access the reduction by 50% to my sky package? I already have HD and was attempting to reduce my overall package cost, is this not what was stated when is says hadn't had an offer in the last twelve months.
Thanks for your advice KTF0 -
Today I received a code from MSExpert offering a 50% reduction from Sky HD subscriptions however when I tried to use this I discovered I still had to pay £199 for an HD box. In a year using this deal I would spend approximately £260. What the Sky Upgrade team offerred instead was a free HD box if I agreed to paying the full monthly price of £10.95 which would cost approximately £130 a year, an obvious saving compared to the MSE code. However I eventually spoke to the Cancellations and Downgrade team (choose the leaving option on the phone menu) who, after some haggling, agreed to match the MSE deal and threw in the box and installation for free.0

They will probably offer you something when you say you want to cancel the TV part then you decide if you want it or not.
If you are happy to let them cancel then do so as you will probably get a better offer in a few days as a result. You can also call up the day before disconnection to say you have changed your mind so what have you got to lose?

"What have i got to lose". When you put it like that it makes perfect sense. They will be getting a call.0
