hi
would love to reduce my sky package deal, sky entertainment, sky + hd, sky unlimited bb & sky line rental £50 ish a month but my contract was only started last march.
how soon can you re-negotiate? it does seem like the best way is to actualy cancel & await a good offer through the post a month later but if i do that i will miss the start of the f1 season-my whole reason for getting sky in the first place.
anyone with any experience of early haggling or does it have to be close to the date to work?
thanks0 -

Just don't do what I did, I made the mistake of telling them I was a pensioner and had to make cuts - no reduction, they just cut my services.
I learnt the hard way:embarasse

How long do you need to be away before being a new customer again. Oh used to have the package in his name. We cancelled and I set up the package (different surname). Could I cancel and he start? He's been a customer at this address - not sure if that makes a difference. It was probably 4 or 5 years ago.0

I have got Top-Up TV at the moment, and only really it to watch Darts, Tennis, Snooker, Motor Racing and Rugby.
Is it worth me getting the Full Sky package just for that?0 -
I recently called Sky as I wanted to upgrade my old Sky+ box for one with more capacity - and the old one was starting to go on blink (jumping around on recordings etc). Wasn't really interested in HD as I have Freeview anyhow too, but was able to get an upgrade to a new HD box, free and installed, for only extra £2.90/month instead of normal £10 per month for HD, for 12 months. Plus, when I baulked at the £21 cost of the On Demand wireless box you need, they billed me for it, but gave me 6 months of half price SkyTalk line rental to compensate - and I'm actually up on the £21 paid out. Sky were reasonable to deal with and quite pleased at mo.:j0

We rang up virgin to try to bring our price down as we have the xl package for tv, phone and internet we pay just short of 50pounds seems to have gone up twice this year without us knowing and is going up 4 pound in feb. we were told we were on the best price going for our bundle. husband mentioned how there was a new virgin deal out and that when they then pay full for our package its cheaper than what we pay, but they said that there is money added on for the tivo box (which we haven't got as we tried to get one of those for free but you pay an extra fiver a month on top for one of those plus an extra box in another room and thats an extra fiver on top. all this they do not advertise it this is extra). I wouldn't go to virgin as when the warranty is up on your box you have to buy your own or pay for it to be fixed with virgin its all free. so for now got to keep paying it and put up with it unless we try just before xmas and get someone who is in a cheery mood0
