I don't think so. AIUI, if the box has EVER had a white card in, the old blue card trick will not work.

I did think it might be a bit unlikely.

    Thanks!

Really only watching the freesat channels & paying £26pm but like the Sky+. Would be happy on 50% off on full package. What is best number to cancel on?

Is that really true? Does the PVR functionality come back (i.e. record) ?
The card is paired to the box and the entitlements are on the card so switching them out will not give you the functionality back.

I am moving home so thought I would give it a try cancelling considering Virgins pretty good offers at moment. They offered me 25% for 6 months but not much else, even £15 for install which you would think they would chuck that in for free!! Anyone had any success lately and should I expect a call in few days?? I went ahead with cancellation (I can always change mind cant I) as for the same money I can have HD and 2 boxes with Virgin. Sky only offered 1 HD box and I had to pay extra 10-25 a month!

I've got a blue sky card that missed the 'kill command' and it still enables the PVR functions, I used it in my old samsung box earlier this year when I cancelled my sub :D and it also works in my 1TB box :)

If the smart card wasn't in the box when they sent out the command to remove the SKY+ entitlement then yes, I can see how it works but all it needs is for them to send it out again and the white cards will stop.

I cancelled 3 weeks ago after being offered 25% off, my SKY is due to stop a week today, 6th December.

I have had no offerss, not letters, nothing from them.

If they dont offer anything, i am getting my OH to sign up with a 50% off code as a new customer, but ideally id like SKY to offer me the same so i can keep my saved stuff on the SKY box.

If i dont hear anything by Monday, i plan on ringing them and explaining the above, in a hope they just offer 5% off without the hassle of setting up a new connection etc
