There's plenty of 50% codes doing the rounds on Digital Spy forum and I got 1 from the Sky Customer Services rep on a refer a friend scheme.

Interesting development half way through my cancellation month.
After logging into 'My Sky' to check my notification preferences I've noticed that they have all been changed to 'no contact required' This was not the situation 2 weeks ago and I am unable to change them back to original settings ??

I used to work for Sky and certain advisors changed the customer preferences if they had to cancel the account (taking a cancellation affects the advisor's bonus), ensuring customer didn't get callbacks/mailshots from the winback team, when I spoke to a manager about this, he just shrugged - hardly ethical behaviour. Am not saying this has definately happened to you, but I have seen it happen to other people, one of many reasons I left working for them

'Post' and 'Telephone' in marketing preferences are ticked on my account and I couldn't change them after I had cancelled.

I still received a call from them a day before switch off (that I missed) and several mail shot offers a few weeks later.

I don't have Sky yet, not getting installed till 20th December. Have a look on various forums(Digital Spy) etc.

Just checked 'My Sky' online (I cancelled 3 weeks ago) My subscription does not finish until Dec 3rd but already its says that I need a SKY subscription to access most features..... Nice of them to do this before my contract has expired!
  • I posted the message below on the 11th nov. I had two sets of text messages from sky asking about my experience and one email survey. Today was my first call which came on my mobile from 08009159081. I may have missed calls on the landline as I rarely answer it. They caught me in a good mood so I spoke with them. Very nice chap called bob listened to my concerns, said he appreciated why I was not happy with their offer and within 20 mins had offered me a free hd box to be sent in 5 days and a 50% discount on my tv package for 12 months, so 27.75 per month, plus offered me again the £5 hd. That is good enough for me, and I look forward to reporting back when it is all installed etc.
I really meant to cancel so a good catch there from sky.
Incidentally, he did note I'd never had a discount before on the tv since sign up, and had a full payment history, don't know if that meant anything to the deals I was offered.

I have been with sky for 6.5 yrs, and have and old white sky+ box. It has an annoying intermittent fault where it switches off and won't come on again. Called today to ask about a new box. I am on the full tv phone and broadband which, following an offer has now levelled off at £74 pm for all channels inc movies and sports.
Went straight thru to cancellations. They offered me a new had box for delivery of £15 and half price hd, an additional £5p/m. I said no, the other offer was no HDTV channels and the box for a (bargain apparently) £29 plus £15 delivery. No discount offered. I said no thanks I'd like to cancel. No other offer made, told my broadband and phone will be £25 for a couple of months till I can cancel that in feb. When I said that's ok I'll go back to bt in feb ta, they seemed non plussed. They did offer to send me an engineer for £15, I again said no, not only do I not have the time to wait in for one but its an intermittent fault and I'm not going through that nonsense with them. So I've cancelled, I think sky have had enough money from me over the years so I look forward to life without it and trying something new, like a smart tv, with the money I save!
I don't expect to hear from them, I think they are getting sick of people haggling, but I'll let you know.
  • I did cancel 2 weeks ago and last night got a call, they offered me:

    50% discount for 12 months so £27.25
I then wanted multiroom and HD, no discount offered so an extra £20.50 on top with a free box (but not recordable, is this normal?)
However they could not tell me if i would get free installation at £60 as my account is now inactive, i would have to look myself on my log in details, i did this and as inactive account i cannot see anything anyway, so dont know what he was talking about.
I said to them i am tempted but if you cant tell me this then that is ridiculous, he sent they would ring me in a few days to let me think about it but he would not know about the installation.
Has anyone else had this?, its a good offer, but dont want to pay the installation.
    Any advice would be helpful.

    Morning

I cancelled back in July. Did'nt really miss it that much but had hoped for an offer of 50%

So got the usual offers of 25% then i got the 50% but i had to take the HD package which didnt really want. So i refused. It was still going to be in the region of £38.50 as they wouldn't discount the HD package.

Anyhow to cut a long story short got another flyer through for 50% but binned it.

Yesterday i had a day off, phone goes and its SKY. They want my business back and have a few packages for me.

First was full package with HD box and HD pack with 50% off. Think it was roughly £34 per month less the £2.50 incentive you receive for having braodband. So for Broadband, calls, line rental and FULL package would work out at about £61.00 per month.

Then he offers me, if I keep existing WHITE box ie NO HD. he could do the FULL TV package with a 75% discount. So i asked for prices. He tells me it would be about £13.50 per month and as I would be due the Broadband discount of £2.50 it would only cost me an extra £11.00 per month for the FULL package.

So it does pay to wait.
