Was told by Virgin Media Customer Services that my VIP package with additional VHD box was going up to £115.89 per month. A few people on forums are saying it should be rising by another £4, far too many rises recently so moving to Sky on 50% off friends and family offer. Getting Sky World HD, unlimited broadband and phone, wireless connector(for on demand) plus 1 2TB HD box, 1 Sky+ HD box and 1 Sky HD box for £76.62 per month with up front cost of £159.0

Hi
I am a Sky customer, I currently have Sky+, Multiroom, Movies and Entertainment Extra. I have just called them to see if they can do me a deal on my package as Virgin are offering a great deal at the moment with their 1Tb Tivo, half price for 6 months etc deal. They have offered me a 2Tb HD box free of charge and an HD box for the multiroom box at a cost of £49, I would also have to pay £60 installation fee but i would get a credit of £60 to my Sky account.
I really wanted to bring the monthly cost down and if I accept the above deal the monthly payment would actually go up by £10.25 for the HD service, plus i have the extra cost of £49 for the second box.
Does it sound like a deal I should snap up even though I haven't actually managed to get the cost down? Or should I hang on and see if they offer more? The guy is calling me back at later for a decision.0 -
Does anyone know if you can give notice to Sky more than 30 days in advance?
Our current deal runs out on 28th Jaunary. I'm not convinced that I'll remember to cancel it on 28th December. Would need to do it at least a week before to be sure.
The deal that we are on is free, so would be annoying to have it stop a week before it needs to. So can I phone Sky on, say, 15th December to give notice to stop the service on 28th January?0 -
I just called Sky and explained I needed to reduce our monthly outgoings (we have entertainment pack with sports, movies & HD - £64.75p/mnth) so wanted to know if they could offer me a deal, her first response was "we can give you more for your money" with a free multiroom HD box, free installation & half price multiroom subscription for £5 p/mnth for 6 mnths, when I explained this actually increases our monthly amount, I mentioned Virgin's half price deal they have at the moment and said I was looking at halving our monthly subscription, she said she could only give me 10% off for 12 mnths but that we would mean starting a new contract with them.
When I asked about cancelling the Sports package I then found out that my movies package would increase as apparently its half price at the min as I have sports!!!!!
Even when I said, hold everything, I'm going to give Virgin a call as they have the better deal, so I'll be cancelling Sky she didn't offer anything. Any tips or should I go for the multiroom freebies?Trying to get back on track!!!

You realise that the multiroom 'deal' is only for 6 months. How long are you tied in for after that?0
