To all of you reading this who try to "talk" Sky into giving them a better deal

YOU HAVE TO CANCEL TO GET A DEAL!

If you do NOT cancel but merely "talk to" them, they can't/won't offer you their best deal.

So make sure you CANCEL your package. It could be 4 weeks or so after that, but you will eventually get a better deal than if you just talk to them.

My cancellation period ends today, had no offers worth a mention so took Virgin up on their offer last Friday!

Left Sky at the end of October without really haggling as my partner had left and I didn't really think I'd be watching it. Got a 75% off letter today, so took them up on that, £13.88 + HD at £10.75 for 12 months. :money:

To be honest if SKY now contact me and offered 75% off like you after I have been through all the fuss of cancelling and joining Virgin I will prob give them even more verbal than I gave them for not wanting to keep a 20 yr customer in the first place!

You'll get plenty of mailshots tempting you to come back, but only well after your cancellation.

A few years back, we had -

Virgin XL Tv, M BB, M Phone for £30 pcm (including Free HD Box/HDMI Cable/Wireless router etc).

To get this, we had to cancel & wait a few days before the termination date before the deal was offered..

Chatted to SKY yesterday to see if they could offer me anything more than the 20% off previously, and they turned around and said that the 20% offer is now withdrawn and they can only knock £5 off a month so i told them to stick it!

OH signed up last night using 50% off code, getting the exact same package as before but with the HD pack also, all for £36, £12 saving on previous contract, along with the new pack.

TV being installed this saturday, but broadband not being activated until 18th December unfortunately!

i signed back up for the full package which is £13.88 a month plus £10.25 for hd allegedly that is not included in the discount. so £24.13 a month? Didnt really want movies but it was only £2 extra a month so thought why not.

The "full package" is much more than £13.88pm without HD. Even if HD was half price too, it'd be £37.50pm (ish). I imagine you mean the Entertainment Extra package?
