Half price deal was coming to and end in August rang loads of times and best I was offered was 25% off. So cancelled no phone call begging me to stay nothing.

Today about 3 weeks after sky being turned off got a flyer for 75% off and £50 off next bill. Also got free ESPN for 3 months. Well pleased as when I was trying to negotiate a deal for the TV I was offered free line rental for a year and £2.50 off the broadband.

Its well worth cancelling and hanging on for a few weeks I am paying less now than I was on previous deal.

    Good Luck Everyone

Need some advise please guys!! Been wiht sky for about 4 years now. Had a 50% off deal unitl last october and then when i said i would leave last year they gave me 25%.

It is due to renew in 3 weeks. My main thing is I need the sky plus box, but mine is now slightly faulty ( due to over use!!), a few questions:
1, if i call to cancel, are they likely to give me a new box as aprt of the deal?
2, is it better to cancel and then wait for flyers, where I may get a new box
3, If i cancel and wait, can I still use the exisiting box for the freeview channels? and will it stiil record?

    Thanks ! :D:D

A Sky box with an expired subscription will continue to operate as a Freesat From Sky box so you get all the free-to-air channels on Freesat plus some other free-to-view ones that require a viewing card (e.g. Channel 5 HD). You cannot record unless you pay Sky £10 per month for the privelege.

    Morning
Was wondering if anyone knew this. I was with sky for years. (full package) then reduced it down.Left them in July Cut-off 21/7/12) this year. At the end i was only on basic ent package but still have phone and broadband with them.

My wife has now moved up from 2 days to 5 days and we are thinking we could possibly afford sky again.

What i was wondering is as it was only in my name the subscription would i be able to use one of these 50% codes and set it up in my wifes name.

    thanks

I think it's luck of the draw. Sometimes it'll work, other times they'll figure out that you're from the same household and won't give you a new customer offer.
  • I've been with Sky for about 6 or 7 years and have TV, phone & broadband with them. I'm very happy with the package I have. I'm not interested in sport or films so just have the standard mix of channels.

I phoned Sky recently asking what they could do for existing customers. The man I spoke to was very helpful and pleasant and stated that they couldn't do anything for my existing TV package but gave me line rental for £3.00 for a year and also free calls for £2.50 per month for a year instead of £5.00 per month. All in all I got a saving of £168.00 which I am very happy with.
  • Got a great deal from the sky stand in the shopping centre. 12 month contract, 6 mths entertainment extra and sports so every chanel but movies 1/2 price 6 mths, then took hd so got 1/2 price line rental 12 months and free unlimited bb for 6 mths. free box free wireless free instal even for new phone line and not a penny to pay upfront. Downside no vouchers but saving £90 cash on line rental and if any problems can go back to local lass that sold me it.
  • Golfer mum and dad tried that then gave same mobile email and bank account and sky blocked the account but did ring and offer to re activate at 1/2 price but not new box et.
  • Remember folks Sky is a luxury, I can't remember the last time I paid the full amount. Always follow through with cancellation if you want the best deals.

Cancelled a few months ago, then waited.

Through the post within the first few weeks of cancellation was an offer of Sky free for 6 months then full price for a further 6 months.

Next came a leaflet offering 50% off sky for 12 months with free £50 credit.

Now I have a leaflet offering 75% off any sky package for 12 months with another free £50 credit.

So sit on your hands folks. 75% off deals come to those that are prepared to wait. I have a few weeks to decide on whether to accept this latest deal. Footie looks pretty decent weekend after next so I just might take them up on their latest offer next week.

Live without Sky for less than 3 months and those big deals come flooding in.
