i did cancel, left them on 21/7/12 only ever had the one offer for 25% off. nothing else, no mial no phone calls. Is it because i kept my phone and BB with them.
I would have thought so, part the reason why I never get a bundled deal from Sky.
In my experience Sky seem to offer ex customers the best deals when you no longer pay them a dime0 -
I currently pay about £120 per month
£47.47 sky
£30.75 3 x multi-room
£10.25 Sky HD
£6.71 Entertainment Extra
£10.00 Sky Unlimited Broadband
£12.25 Sky Talk Line Rental
£5.00 Sky Talk Anytime
I need to get this greatly reduced0 -
I have been a Virgin customer for a few years now. I previously had discounts but the cost had been creeping up till it recently stood at £86 per month for XL TV, Tivo, 30MB broadband, evening and weekend phone.
I phoned up looking to add a second HD box for my kitchen and was initially quoted a £50 install plus extra £22 per month. I thought that was way too much and politely declined. The operator agreed it seemed high and went off to see what she could do...
I was then offered: XL TV, Tivo plus new HD box, 60MB broadband, evening and weekend phone all for £63 per month! Still the one-off £50 connection fee, but I thought that was worth it so went ahead and got it.
Oh, and the deal has no expiry date. :beer:0 -
Registered today to say that I currently have the full sky package of Entertaiment Extra, Sports, Movies & HD and was paying £70 odd a month. I rang them a month ago & they reduced the bill by 25% but this was still too high. I rang today and spoke to a lovely lady who when I asked if I could speak to cancellations, asked me why. I was honest & said, its too expensive. Immediately she came back with the same package for £28.35 a month for 12 months. I'm very happy now! Also, those of you still on BT's super slow adsl internet & paying a fortune each month should do a telephone number check on the BT website to see if Infinity is available in your area. I didn't think it was and I was paying £46 a month for my 4mb internet & phone with unlimited evening & weekend calls. Since checking & discovering Infinity is now available in my back of beyond village (we dont have virgin) I will at the end of September be receiving 44mb internet & phone with same deal for the cost of £36 a month! Bargains! It ALWAYS pays to ask. I have found though that you need to be polite, respectful & just be honest & tell them it's too expensive. I hope this helps :-)0

Cancelled a few months ago, then waited.
Through the post within the first few weeks of cancellation was an offer of Sky free for 6 months then full price for a further 6 months.
Next came a leaflet offering 50% off sky for 12 months with free £50 credit.
Now I have a leaflet offering 75% off any sky package for 12 months with another free £50 credit.
So sit on your hands folks. 75% off deals come to those that are prepared to wait. I have a few weeks to decide on whether to accept this latest deal. Footie looks pretty decent weekend after next so I just might take them up on their latest offer next week.
Live without Sky for less than 3 months and those big deals come flooding in.
I can confirm this as correct although things happened faster for me.
Left SKY at the beginning of August (Full TV package, Multiroom, BB and phone).
Within 3 weeks had a leaflet offering 50% off TV for 12 months. Literally just received another leaflet offering 75% off TV for 12 months, plus £50 cash.
Just wish I hadn't jumped to Virgin immediately!0 -

No don't think so. I cancelled the TV went off in August but kept the BB and phone. Two days ago I got the 75% off offer and snapped it up straight away.
Why don't you try ringing them and see what they offer you.
Good Luck0 -
I call Sky about twice a year to get a deal and if you persist long enough, they normally give you a good one.
I'm about to be made redundant, so am trying to cut back on the luxuries.
I had every intention a few weeks ago to ditch sky and go for freeview or freesat and even looked at the boxes available etc.
I phoned sky and told them that I wanted to cancel my subscription as I couldn't justify spending £60 a month.
They offered me various deals and i finally caved in at my same package ( the full package plus sports, movies and multi room) for half price for 12 months + ESPN for 6 months.
They said that I wasn't under a contract, so could call back in a couple of months and cancel if i wish
Must admit, they are very good with customer services and want to keep you at any cost.0 -
Well, just called up Sky after getting the 75% 'Come back to Sky' offer.
Spoke to a really helpful guy, and came up with the following package
Sky World (inc. Sports and Movies)
HD
Multiroom
1TB box installed (£49 rather than £249 - will be moving the dormant HD box to my room)
All this for £33.12 per month! According to the "Build your Bundle" this should cost £85.50 per month!
Plus there's the £50 credit, which will cover my first month and a half's premium.
Not bad at all I reckon!!:T2021
