    Hello,

How many times do the retentions team usually ring? I have had one call from them, but the deal was not so good. Should I expect another offer, or is that my lot? (Monthly spend is £120+ and I have handed in my notice)

    Thanks. :)

    Edit: I'm with Virgin.
  • Just signed up to the HD My World package including Movies & Sports for around £25 per month using the 50% off code exclusive to MSE users.
I feel this is a good deal and I'm very pleased, thanks Martin.

Well have to say I am really disappointed in SKY, we have the full package and have done for over a decade but hubby got made redundant so tonight we called to ask what Sky could do to help. Spoke to a man called 'Andy' who was NOT interested. Options were a derisory reduction of £5 a month or 'helpfully' reduce my package to the bare minimum. Made it clear offers were only for new customers and that 'most of the stories you read on the internet about us offering substantial discounts are made up' ???
Threatened to leave, they refused to put us through to anyone else, refused to put us through to a manager and basically told us we were wasting our time. Explained we were long standing loyal customers who would like to stay with Sky long term but needed some breathing space. Got coldly told to reduce our package now if we couldn't afford it (which we are going to do) and upgrade when we can.
Charming. We can't get any other service other than Freeview, he seemed to know that and rather arrogantly stated he knew we wouldn't like that as we had had Sky so long and seemed more interested in our viewing habits so he could reduce our package accordingly. :(
If you call and get 'Andy' don't bother it will cost you 5p a minute and he'll keep you on the phone an age and you'll ring off having felt thoroughly under valued.

Threatening to leave doesn't cut it. You need to give your notice and leave otherwise they have no incentive to give you a deal.
  • Hi all,

Are there any sky employees here offering new customers discounts codes please. Young family would really appreciate! PM if possible

    Kind regards

With reference to this topic. I currently have Sky full package (TV-PHONE-INTERNET)

However only been with them 6 months. Its a minimum 12 month contract.

Whats the chances in me calling up to cancel it and getting an offer? Will they just charge me still for the remainder 6 months and then cancel do you know?

    Thanks

You have to stay for the min term, then give notice at month 11.

just sharing my experiences. I have been with sky for 15 plus years. Phoned them asking for deals. Nothing! So handed my notice to cancel. 2 days before my months notice was up I phoned sky to see if they would do me a deal. They offered 20% off and half price HD. I took it. 3 days later i get a card in offering me 50% off and £50 towards bill!!!

So I phoned sky and explained my disapointment that i cancelled cancellation and a few days later the 50% offer comes. Sky were very understanding but basically tough!! So I hand in my 30 day notice again. So sky got switched off on Friday. Today (Wednesday) i have a letter from sky offering me 75% off for 12 months and £50 towards bill. So I will now be paying £24 per month with the fitrst 2 months free for 12 months for HD, sports, movies, sky plus and all the other usual channels...........Get int here!!!!!! what a result....
