Has anyone had any luck negotiating on the price of the 1TB sky box?
We're forever running out of space, as we record lots of HD content, and just watch as & when we have time.

We currently have TV+HD+BB+LL+LR package - so are pretty good customers. I just begrudge paying the £250 asking price for the box :D

we got it by adding multi room they pit the 1Tb box in the other room but said as soon as we go just swap them over. hope this helps

Yes 12 month contract. I think its worth it for just over £24 per month for all the channels including movies and sport plus ESPN for 3 months and HD. This is by far the best deal I have ever had from SKY, normally get the 50% off for 6 months.
With regard to the engineer call out charge I have never paid for one yet and have had quite a few.
    Good Luck

Just got off the phone to sky and I'm getting a 1TB box (self install) for £49

Full sky HD package for £24 + £50 credit on a 12mth contract and the 1TB box for £49 :D

It's not too difficult to upgrade the Hard drive in a sky HD to a 1GB one, which would cost around £69-£70 and you'd still have the original drive to fall back on.

Google and or eBay are your friends here.

?..let me know of any tricks I can use with Virgin..... Any tips on what I can do to try and get a better price than the standard fees for those bits and pieces?

You need to CANCEL your Virgin stuff. They will then offer you stuff. If you don't actually cancel they won't do anything.

We are Freesat HD users for TV but use Sky for phone & BB.

I was tempted by the half price Sky codes but missed out first time round and didn't realise more codes were released.

I just phoned Sky and got a great agent. Told her I'm already a BB customer and would have liked a package using the half price code from MSE but I missed out and is there any offer for me.

She went to speak to a manager and came back saying that they are willing to let me have any package for half price on 12 month contract.

I was paying £27.25. I've changed phone to weekend only saving £5 and as I will have TV, the BB has dropped from £10 to £7.50

My new bill will be £33. We opted for Ent. Extra package.
Works out £6 per month extra.

Nice. The new codes were only for new customers though so you couldn't have used them anyway, lol.

Yeah, she said that on the phone.
I've also been given a + box for free according to my online account.
I think they should be £49

Am I right that I'll still get the free HD channels?

Yeah all boxes now are Sky+ HD boxes, no matter what the website says. if you don't have an HD subscription you'll still get BBC One HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD, Channel 4 HD and Channel 5 HD.
