I cancelled my contract with SKY in July and my package was switched off on 12 August. Got the come back to SKY letter today offering 75 % off for 12 months, free ESPN for 3 months and a £ 50 credit on my account. Needless to say I have signed back up :-)
Bill reduced by around £40 a month.
really hope i get that offer
mine went off a week ago so probably have to wait a while yet...0 -
Another offer received in the post today, my 3rd since I left Sky in March. This time '50% off Sky TV for 12 months when you take the HD pack' so worse than the 6 month FREE deal on a 12 month contract that I was offered before when no HD pack was required. Wonder why i'm not being offered the 75% + £50 credit deal, maybe it's because i'm not in a Virgin cable area so no competition and incentive to offer the best deals? Oh well only another 6 months and i'll be a NEW customer again0

I have been with Virgin for over 5 years and never negotiated a new deal. A couple of weeks ago I started have internet problems they were intermittent then I lost my TV. Frustrated I rang Virgin they arranged for an engineer to come out also sent me a new superhub modem. I was still unhappy as I had important work to complete online so I accepted the engineer but still gave a months notice to cancel. They tried to retain me but all I asked for was the service I was paying for.
The engineer fixed the problem(loose wires!!)
Last night I received a phone call from Virgin, to negotiate a deal they offered me the super fast broadband for around £25 less than I am paying now. Not convinced I asked about TIVO. Sounded brilliant so I accepted I will have TiVo, plus extra HD V+ box in another room size XL, super fast broadband and free weekend calls all for £48.98 per month and the first 2.5 months are free.
To be honest I was going to cancel the cancellation anyway I was just making them sweat a little.
Downside I have to sign up for a 12month contract but time goes so quickly it was a no brainer really.0 -
Anyone know what Virgin are offering to current customers looking to upgrade? I am on XL TV, M Broadband (£31.50) and Talk Weekends (13.90) so paying £45.40 per month. We don't have Tivo or V+. Would be happy to get a free Tivo box and keep paying the same to be honest but it would be even better to knock a few quid off the bill. The Premiere collection seems to be closest to what we have but we don't need all the extras like an extra box as we only have 1 TV.
I was out of contract, having been a customer for 5 years. Started having technical issues, decided to cancel. They sent an engineer out anyway. He fixed the problem (loose wires). They rang me last night (I had the same package as you) I was first offered the super fast broadband for £44.50 per month with the first 2.5months free. I enquired as what TiVo is all about he gave me the spool (I already knew what it was) He said he would have to speak to his (cough) supervisor, came back offered me Tivo with free installation, they would put my other box HD V+ box in another room again free. Keep the super fast broadband as originally offered. All this for £48.90 per month again with the first 2.5 months free. (I did have to agree to another 12 month contract though)0 -
Reading this thread through - some excellent deals have been had. I am out of contract with Sky, I moved house last year and told them I wished to be disconnected and they offered me 25% off for 6 months, which is only ok-ish according to this thread! I phoned a few weeks ago and they offered me 25% again, but to be honest I was hoping for more, so said I would think about it and phone back.
I have just realised that I am now out of contract with BT, so it is time to be looking for a new internet provider, my SKy+ box is also about 5 years old now - what sort of deal could I hope for with Sky if I were to move my internet and phone services over to them?2011: £10 Sports Direct Voucher, Peppa Pig Wii Game, Trivial Pursuit Card Game, £100 Chat magazine win, Dance workout dvd, Grease wii game,0 -
Do you have to sign up to another 12m package when you use the Quidco £100 cashback for existing customers upgrading to Sky HD????0

came on here about 2 weeks weeks announcing how chuffed i was that i had negotiated a 6 months half price tv package with sky.
DragonQ kindly pointed out to me that i could have got the same offer for 12 months if i got a code entitling me to the friends and family and he pointed me in the direction of http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...1723483&page=2
so thanks for that DragonQ,i went on digitalspy and have just got fixed up.
i cancelled my original order which gave me the 6 months half price plus £100 m & s vouchers,as it wasnt due to be installed until 13th.
the lady i spoke to pointed out that the voucher offer doesnt apply to the friends and family deal but i am still on a winner.
anybody wanting the deal i have now got go onto digital spy as above and plead for a code! it will be forthcoming.
i have read that the offer ends 24th september but i am having mine installed 26th september so i am assuming you have to have your order in on the 24th,but check with sky to confirm it.

Is this for new customers though?0 -
New customers only. There were codes for both new and existing customers in June but not right now.0

Our current Sky contract is in my partners name.
When I used to live with my parents, 18 months ago, we had a Sky contract and that was in my name. This was cancelled before I moved out.
Does that mean that we can cancel our current contract and I can then contact Sky myself and get the returning customer offer of 50% off and keep our current hardware?0
