It's not "bee" it's "Be". Obviously that won't get you far in a Google search but try "Be there" or "Be unlimited".

Been with them before, they're a great provider, marketed towards high-end users because they have no limits or throttling at all and a low contention ratio (meaning fewer people sharing the bandwidth available, so less chance of slowdown during peak hours).

Only issue with Be is that they don't have fibre-optic yet. Surely they will need to get in that game quickly to please their "heavy users" market. They also tend to cost more if you want TV because you have to mix providers (Be don't have a TV service). If you're not interested in pay TV though, you could get Primus for your line rental + phone (cheapest provider) coupled with Be Unlimited broadband for £30pm. The equivalent from BT is £37pm and the equivalent from Sky is £22.50pm. Be will certainly have the best customer feedback though so it depends whether you're willing to pay for that.
  • Hi People

Just some background on my package with Sky

Currently have the entertainment pack,HD Pack, Phoneline with evening & weekend calls & unlimited Broadband

Have had a free line rental & Broadband deal (£19.75 saving a month) for 9 months that ends in September.

Can anyone else advise on what I should say to get a similar saving of around £20 or even more?

Last time I rang up & mentioned Virgin media it was offered almost instantly.

Tried a few times in last few months & the offers haven't been as good.

Best I've had offered so far is the £3 line rental for 12 months.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Regards

    Jonathan

Ive just rang sky to cancel my sky tv package hoping for a discount. no offers, nothing. just told my contract will end on 26.8.12. dont know how OH and DD will cope without Sky. ive told OH that they will offer something eventually. i can cope without Sky to ensure we get a good deal. im gonna find an email address and write a letter of complaint about sky not rewarding existing customers. that worked last year, but i do think sky have cottoned on to people cancelling to ensure discounts, but in the times of this so called resession I think Sky prices are far too high and a luxury i can do without to spend my money on other things.
    Just about to give up!

Hi all, just looking for some advice,

Ive been with virgin since cable&wireless and telewest. I currently have 20mbbb, tivo 500mb & v+ hd (kids room) on XL and unlimited calls at a cost of £54.
Told them i was leaving yesterday and was given a cut off date. Tonight they phoned from retentions with an offer to stay:-
Upgrade of BB to 30mb and superhub, same tv but evenings and weekends for calls at a cost of £51 plus one month free.

Is it me or am i just saving what they cut from my phone??

Ideally I'm looking to add sports and movies but at a good price. Should I show my hand or keep the poker face???

I SUSPECT that their systems are getting ever better so that they can easily see whether you are a) in a Virgin cable area or b) on a BT exchange with lots of competition for b/band and phone.
If you are unfortunate (as I am) to have no access to Virgin and on a Market 1 phone exchange with no real competition to BT Wholesale - then no Sky offers!!!:(

You're missing the difference between Fibre Optic and Copper.

Click the check your speed icon on that page, enter your details and see what it offers.

If you have a 30mb line with virgin and they drop you to say 2.5 or 5mb...You might not even be able to get 5mb at any point with a BT/Sky/Be line - check what it says its capable of...

Just called Sky as my contracts up next month.

Didn't get any joy from them package-wise. TBH I'm a bit disappointed, they really do not seem to reward loyalty as I pointed out to the advisor (politely).

given them my 1 months notice, so we'll see what happens in the meantime....

I'm happy enough to hold off for a month and then rejoin using one of those nice offers or flyers they seem to send out.

    Rocket.
