Joking, they will have been very similar deals.0 -
Arrrgghhh!!!
After hearing that Sky are putting the prices up by £1.50 in September, i phoned the up today to cancel my subscription. We've been with then for 10yrs, at the moment we have phone, broadband and TV with them. They said they would lower broadband by £2.50 and freeze the £1.50 rise, i told them to forget it. When i asked if we got anything for loyalty, she told us that we wouldn't get the music channels and various other channels elsewhere, so we would be the ones losing out. I've decide to cancel all of it, so now i have 30 days to find a new phone and broadband provider.
Can anyone recommend pls?0 -
I've been on 12 month half price package (full entertainment with movies) for £22 per month on the "Come back to Sky" offer. Called to cancel and was offered 2 options to stay:
Remove movies and pay £26 per month (no discount)
Or 10% off my current tv package (would go up to about £40 per month)
Cancelled with 31 days notice.
My broadband is with TalkTalk so I'm hoping they announce a decent YouView package on 26 July but may stick to Netflix and Blinkbox on Xbox for now.0 -
I have recently moved from Sky(after 12 years) to Virgin. I Emailed and wrote(by recorded delivery) to cancel my Sky(Full package-the works with multiroom,HD,broadband and phone) and heard nothing back at all. When I phoned them they had no record of either, even though they had signed for the recorded delivery! All they offered me was a 20% discount,so I cancelled and took up Virgin VIP collection half price for 6 months and £60 off first bill. All Sky did was evade the cancellation! Virgin is now up and running perfectly.0

What email address did you use to cancel if you don’t mind me asking?0 -
Well, we played the 'see who blinks first' game with Sky and our 31 days notice ran out on the 7th July. No calls or offers from them since.
Been with them (on a full package the majority of the time) for the best part of 10 years.
I filled in the customer response form that I was asked to fill in by email to confirm why I was leaving. Still no calls.
Suits me - We're now £66 or so a month better off and we can still get the freeview stuff.
When we move to an area out of Hull (where we're stuck with Kingston Communications) as we're planning to do in the next few months I'll be looking at the deals available and revising what we want then.0 -
Just did Livechat with Sky with advisor called Jaya to see how best to cancel my Sky package (hdtv,bb,lr and calls). Didn't really get anywhere. So phoned cancellations and spoke to Scottish guy and got line rental for £3pm for a year and Skytalk anytime for £2.50pm for a year as well. Cancelled HD at same time. Not as great a saving as some but still £22pm better off:j. And not tied in so can cancel if I change my mind.0

12 years of everything, and currently with 2 multi-rooms and phone and BB and a monthly bill of over £100!!
Debts to pay and Kids at Uni means it has to go and they didn't even put up a fight? Talked me through reducing services (MR, HD, Sports etc) but absolutely no mention of any offers.
Looks like the end is nigh of the offers. I am actually cancelling it all so will see what offers if any appear when it is off.0 -

Let us know when and what they offer please.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
