called on monday, currently on 12 months 50% for sky world, paying £26 p/m with free hd mix, this ends this month, ended up with continued 50% for 6 months, no contract, still £26ish, however they would not give hd mix for free or discount, so just cancelled that part which is not worth the £10 per month charge.
will ring again in 6 months, if no discount then, will just cancel!
sky costs may be forced down down if choices/competition from eu become an option following ruling on pub landlady and greek subscription

Jusy phoned up Sky to get get my bill reduced. Originally got told they had no offers so got put through to the TV downgrade department. They gave me half price movies for 6 months and free sky line rental for 6 months. This saves me £18.75/month. Also had some problems with broadband for 2 weeks which are now solved. Managed to obtain a credit for this 2 week period while I was not able to go on internet.0

Thanks to this MSE thread, last week I got the 50% off all for 6 months and free HD+ box etc. Checked out BT Vision and was pretty close to cancelling Sky regardless of deals offered. Reason for staying was to see if I really want HD. So in 6 months I will look again at BT Vision, who knows they may have something to offer in the HD area. In the expectation that Sky monitor fora such as this, I would say to them that ad-hoc deals will not be enough!0

Response from Sky...
Thanks for your reply dated 4th February. Unfortunately we don't have a 25% discount offer available to apply to your account.
However if you do wish to go ahead with the free service call or decide to upgrade your box, please contact us.
What a load of bollards.....
My reply....
OK - lets try a 50% discount
I am still not happy - I have been with Sky for at least 6 years - other people that I know have been offered a free HD box and free installation with no need of HD channels. If you do not agree to this I will be looking to go elseware for my TV subscription.0 -
Well thanks to this thread I haggled and saved myself £240 this year, happy as it equates to above the 25% mentioned above, all for a price of a phone callExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
