:rotfl:I phoned up to see what i could get after being with them for 15 months, i was paying £38.50 per month for all channels except Sports, Style and Culture and News and Events packages, I spoke to a very helpful chap who offered to include the Style and Culture and News and Events packages on top of what i already had and cut the cost down by 25% for the whole year making it £30 per month...Bargain.
If you have been with any of these companies for at least 12 months, i would urge you to phone up and see what deal you can get...THEY WILL CUT THE PRICE DOWN!
  • Called Sky to give them notice I was moving to BT vision. Negotiated full 12 month deal for £24 / month for full sky package. Just got to push. I even finished the call and the guy called me back 20 mins later to do the deal. :j
  • Had to call 08442 414 141, option 4, option 4. Spoke to Gary in the Scotland centre, I said it was the time of year for reviewing bills and sky was one of the biggest. He had a quick look and offered 25% off for 12 months (no contract tie in) or free HD+ box and installation. Took the 25% discount. He offered this almost immediately and was all done in 5 mins. I didn't even threaten to leave or mention cheaper competitors.

I have been with sky for 6 years, have sports + 6 mixes, broadband lite and freetime telephone with line rental. I regularly call when my latest deal ends and have just come off a 25% TV and 1/2 price line rental deal. Well worth ringing (even if you have to pay for the 0844 number :( )!

Received from Sky - in response to my email informing them of my Sky plus box fault (trying to save money)
"We would not want lose you as a customer, if the technicalprocedures did not rectify the problem I could send anengineer free of charge to resolve the problem. If you would like to upgrade your box I could offer you aSky+ HD box free of charge, as you have indication in youremail you do not require the HD channels then this box would be used as a Sky+ box only.If you chose the upgrade option, you are entering into afurther 12 month contract with sky and the installation options are as follows:-a) The normal cost of installation is £60.00 however I can reduce this to £30.00 to save you as a customer, this amount is payable at the time of booking via debit or credit card.b) We can arrange a self installation for £15.00 which again is payable at the time of booking via debit or credit, however to chose this option you must take on the HD Subscription which is an additional £10.25 per month."
Do Sky think that I am stupid ?

Last year we were paying approx £70 per month for Virgin media Broadband, Phone & TV, I called to downgrade to save money and they offered me an upgrade on Broadband and a free V+ HD box with free installation for £48 per month!
My contract is up for renewal and we have been experiencing problems in the last week with the service (engineer coming tomorrow to fix it) I hope this will add leverage to my negotiations for a price cut for this year too! Has anyone else had any joy with Virgin Media recently?
  • I've just phoned Sky and got a 25% discount over 12months for my FULL SKY+ package. Takes my monthly DD from £51 to £38.25. Was an easy call. On the numbers at the start go through to cancelling Sky option. Was not in the chaps face on cancelling just said I may have to loose some of the packs including Sports and Movies. Well done MSE for putting me onto this!
  • How come some are getting 25% off everything not just the tv package? (you might want to check with Sky maybe?)
  • I called Sky yesterday (thinking of leaving us dept) and told them money was rather tight and we have the full sky plus package with them and pay£53 per month, I asked if there was anything they could do to help, she offered me 25% of my bill for 12 months and if I were to reduce the movies or sports etc it would go to 25% of the reduced amount. I didn't even need to thrreaten to leave. Thanks for the tip MSE x
  • Can you cancel then a month later go back to them via quidco for £100? and M&S vouchers and a free HD Box? hehe god i'm tight
  • I phoned this afternoon using the instructions as above and got put through to a woman whos name I didnt catch! anyway she insisted at talking at 120 mph so tricky to keep up with her. Told her I was looking to reduce costs and she tried to add cost to my phone bill by going for a more expensive phone option. No offer from her and I will be re-ringing back. Failing that the Sky package is going to get cancelled as it cost me £100 last month with my £20 of calls. Any suggestions out there folks? sorry just looking to reduce this as its become more and more expensive. Sky package has gone from £51 to £55.25 in a year thats far greater than inflation (rant over)
