Thanks for that - I'm just worried it will taken them longer than Saturday to call me back when all the good offer from Sky have ended - at the moment there are some OK "Bundles" plus £100 in vouchers + free installation at Sky. I will have to get on to them tonight ♥
VM retentions called me within two days, and I've heard some other posters experiencing the same.
    C'mon you Canaries!!

recent posters that have called to cancel with Sky or actually gone through & cancelled, are you in cabled areas? i'm just wondering if this has any bearing on what you're being offered to come back? Sky are our only option & whilst i don't mind saying we'll leave, OH would kill me if he lost his sports channels for a day, never mind a few weeks?!

Virgin is available in our area and they checked whilst I was on the phone with them in case I was fibbing!
  • sent an email to cancel with sky explaining my situation on fri last week. I lost my job and currently pay 70.25 a month for entertainment extra with sports, movies and espn and a multiroom subscription.

I cant afford the 70.25 anymore as im on the dole.

A nice lady rang me today and had a chat about what I watch an all that, explained i watch docs and sports mostly. She put me on hold and said all she could do was to cancel multiroom without fee's, take away espn and movies to leave me with £45 a month, which still isn't affordable for me.

So I'm lost on what to do, she is going to ring me again tomorrow and i'll give her my decision.
    Not sure what to do.

    Anyone?

I would go ahead and cancel. It gives you 30 days anyway and you can always ring and cancel the cancellation. If you read my last few posts you'll see it worked for me. 50% off phone call came yesterday which was 5 days before my cancellation date
  • I don't live in a cabled area and this is my second half price deal with sky tv.

Reading between the lines, are you still in contract? If you are then snap their hands off because they aren't obliged to offer you anything if you are in contract.

If you aren't though, cancel and see what they offer.

  • I'm going to call sky to more, cancel and ignore and offers as I want to go virgin for better broadband, TiVo etc.

    If I want sky sports package, am I best off;

    - adding this to my basket when I buy online tomorrow, then calling in a few months to say can't afford and hope get a reduction.

    - calling instead of ordering Virgin online (although think better deals are online) and hope they can offer an unlikely deal.

    - not subscribe to sky sports now, but call up after installation enquiring about sky sports and saying was going to get it but too expensive, hoping for an offer!?

Just wondering what the best bet is to get it cheapest in the long run!

    Thanks

i havnt paid sky for quite a few years now but still live in same house. am i likely to get a deal off them if i ring? id like sky + but only the cheapest option. thanks
  • My virgin media package
    Xl tv
    Xl phone
    L bb
    Line rental
All for 58.25 inc of price rise.
The above price is inclusive of £24.20 triple combo discount which values bundle at £82.45.
Same bundle on website is £63.95.?
Called retentions who stated website price is discounted for new custom.?
I thought the 3 free months, free super hub,£50 cashback + quidco cashback was the incentive to join?
I feel I am being penalised for being a loyal customer (16 years) and that there is no alternative but to leave and join another provider.
It seems financial sense to leave virgin and join sky.Any comment please.
  • I have 2 codes for half price sky sports and sky movies for 6 months.

They can only be used by sky cutomers who do not have sports and movies at the moment.

    Anyone want one?
